Two Interesting UFO Encounters

Two UFO incidents, the first with a religious patina....

Incident One:

On July 11, 1978 at 13:00 p.m., two boys A. B. (10) and F. C. (11), on the island of Ibiza (Spain), were playing in a field when they heard a loud noise.

They, then, observed a "robot" with a very bright antenna on its head.

The robot walked with long strides towards the children who ran away.

The robot's body was like a normal person wearing a metallic suit.

From a distance, the children watched a second entity emerge from the undergrowth.

It was a "man" of over 2 meters high, covered with a white tunic. The face was human.

On the sides of the tunic were two black vertical lines and a "star" on the chest.

(The drawn image seems to have religious connotations.)

The children also saw a strange machine next to some electricity pylons.

The machine was egg-shaped and grayish in color. Suddenly a blue “light” began to chase the children who ran to the village.

Neighbors found a huge footprint of 50 cm, with 3 circles inside.

Incident Two:

On October 13, 1978, Jorge Castillo, 32, was driving a Ford F-1OO truck, between Trelew and Esquel (Argentina), in front of a partner, Alfredo Gianonni, following with another truck.

About 23:00 p.m., they observed a bright light in the sky.

Hours later, at about 3:00 a.m., they observed a metal object, hovering just above the ground.

A strange luminous cloud came toward the witnesses who drove off.

Looking in the rear-view mirrors of their vehicles, they saw four humanoids in white suits, examining the road.

The humanoids had antennae on their heads.

When Jorge turned on the light inside his van, the humanoids disappeared.

When the light was turned off, they appeared again

They also observed two humanoids walking along the road.

The witnesses told investigators that during the experience they had serious vision problems and the landscape was deformed in an inexplicable manner.

THE ENGINEER AND HIS "COLLEAGUES" OUTER SPACE

In close encounters with UFOs, the mind of the witness is used (tuned) by an "agent external" and unknown, "making" many of the elements that appear on the scene, not only unconscious material related to science fiction (movies, comics, etc.) but even professions, studies, and other daily values that may be represented in the experience.

In fact, the experience is oneiric [dream-like] and seems to be a mental phenomenon very similar in behavior and functioning to alleged "close encounters.”

Therefore we should look into this question, searching for parallels between the two phenomena: close encounters and dream content.

The role of the external agent is to regulate, control and develop the patterns induced (an alien visitation) and not allow the elements added by the witness to get out of control in a disorderly manner and become grossly inconsistent as in dreams.

But the constant evidence of absurd components, that disconcert ufologists -- experiences with the alleged "aliens" -- suggests that the "similarity" with dreams is more than reasonable.

The components are distinct, original phenomena however.

Here is an example:

In the Autumn or Winter of 1952, the British engineer Harry Mallard, 32, who worked for a company, Reostatic British in South Africa, was driving his car along a road near the Drakenstein mountains (about 40km from Cape Town).

At about 23:15 pm, he observed a "man" emerging from the darkness, signaling him to stop.

The "strange passerby" asked if Mallard had water because he urgently needed some as he had had a little accident.

Mallard said they were near a small river and offered to take him in his car.

The "man" spoke in rarified English as a teacher might.

When they reached the creek, they cleaned up an oil can and filled it with water.

Then the "man" told Mallard to take him back to the same place where Mallard found him.

When they arrived, Mallard saw a dark area about 100 meters from the road.

It was a strange object 15 meters in diameter and 4 meters high (shaped like a disk).

Light was observed at its bottom.

The "man" invited Mallard to go up and in, where Mallard entered a bright room (although he did not see source of the light, thinking perhaps from it came from the walls).

The room had leather chairs like a living room, and many rectangular windows with rounded corners (although the light did not go outside).

There were also three "men," almost identical to his companion, attending to another individual who was lying down and appeared injured.

Mallard said they should go to town and get a doctor, but the "man" categorically refused.

He said he had had an accident when entering the atmosphere, and a window was broken (although Mallard did not observe any broken window).

The individuals all were of the same height: 1.50 or 1.60 meters.

Their features were completely normal, except for the hair, which was gray, and identical on the five “men.”

Mallard's interlocutor was portly and older, wearing a beige lab coat with the appearance of a scientist.

The "man" gave the can with water to his peers, but did not allow Mallard to approach them.

The "man" then asked if Mallard wanted to know something about them.

The engineer immediately asked about the functioning of the ship.

Mallard was taken to the center of the room where there were eight levers, similar to those used on the railroad, arranged in two rows, and one meter in height with a table behind them.

The "man" told Mallard that they operated the craft with these levers.

Mallard asked about the engines. The "man" told him the engines worked with another system (without motors).

The mysterious "man" told him they overcame gravity with the help of a "heavy liquid" which circulated throughout the ship, inside tubes, creating an "electromagnetic effect.”

This created a "liquid magnet" which could override the force of gravity, all controlled by the rudimentary levers.

He also said they did not use any method of navigation, traveling by sight (as one does in boats or cars).

Asked about his provenance, the “man” declined to clarify their origin and only said that they came from the stars.

Mallard, worried about the injured crew member, insisted that he should go get a doctor but, again, the "man" refused and took him to the outside of the object. The experience lasted about 45 minutes.

The next day, inevstigators found four footprints in the area. (Source J.J. Benítez. "El hombre que susurraba a los "ummitas". 2007 ; J. J. Benítez "El Mundo de los OVNIs" 1980)

CLOSE ENCOUNTER BETWEEN SCIENTISTS

In this incident we see an engineer having a close encounter with "colleagues" -- scientists from outer space, with robes and gray hair and the appearance of scientists.

At the beginning of the experience, using the archetype of the "road accident", and asking for water, the entrance of the "actors" is produced through a recognizable action assimilated by the psyche of the witness (roadside assistance).

Then inside the “craft,” our witness is told that to control the spaceship, the “men” do not use any innovative method (unknown, or futuristic) for the time-frame -- the decade of the 50s (computer touch, voice control, et cetera).

But instead, they use an antiquated, crude method by manually operating several levers:

These levers are suspiciously similar to those used on railways, which can be seen at times in the windows of the railroad station, just like those windows that Mallard himself saw in the device.

Even the picture that Mallard drew of the UFO resembles a train car with the windows rectangular:

In addition, the arrangement of the chairs around the perimeter, inside the UFO, recalls a waiting room of a train station or airport.

Can it be a coincidence that an engineer in instrumentation finds such levers inside of a UFO?

In addition, the crew of the UFO, just wanted to talk about engines and levers (related to the profession of control), and would not, for example, talk about the place of origin of the spacecraft.

Again it is found that the facts and circumstances surrounding the close encounter with a UFO are influenced by the psyche of the witness.

And not quite understandable, the crew of the spacecraft, indicated that their method of navigating through infinite space was by sight, without any navigation system or automatic control, such as computers or even maps, let alone the function of an "automatic pilot.”

Thus it is evident that the construction of the experience is based, in the mind of the witness which provides information that is only partially distorted.

The very "reality" and "knowledge" of the witness, this time, did not use symbols of science fiction from the unconscious.

The crew of the UFO were presented as "colleagues" or scientists in trouble, to a terrestrial engineer.

SPAIN’S "PHOENIX LIGHTS"

Some important UFO incidents occurred in Spain in 1997. Dozens of people confirmed the flight of several formations of unidentified lights in the sky near the Strait of Gibraltar.

The evolution of these UFOs were reported from the cities of Algeciras, Tarifa (Cadiz) and Gibraltar (British Colony).

LIGHTS IN FORMATION SAN GARCIA (ALGECIRAS). FEBRUARY 19, 1997. 23:20 HOURS:

The first witness that we knew was Mr. Antonio Conde, an employee of a
telephone company, who saw, on the night of February 19, 1997, several UFOs above his home, located in a residential area of San García (Algeciras).

According to Mr. Conde, about 23:20, he saw in the clear night (no clouds), the flight of seven or eight strange lights, in perfect angular formation, flying slowly overhead.

The UFOs were huge and flashing like red stars, but one of them was white, and larger than the others.

The UFOs maintained a constant speed and direction, disappearing in the distance,
after about 6 minutes, towards the Mediterranean.

Mr. Conde tells us that at no time did he hear any noise from the mysterious
formation.

After personal contact with Mr. Conde about the event, talking with him for over an hour, we thought maybe he had seen a formation flight of several military aircraft on night maneuvers.

Therefore, we decided to check for the possibility of air traffic for that night.

On the other hand, without prematurely closing the case, we opened another line of research by trying to verify if more people were able to observe the strange formation of lights.

We published a press release in the newspaper, Southern Europe (Algeciras), appealing to all readers who have witnessed any unusual aerial phenomenon on the night of February 19 to call us.

Soon we had more witnesses.

NOISE AND LIGHTS: TARIFA (CADIZ). WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19. 23:10 HRS / 23:25 HRS / 23:40

Joseph and Gloria of Tarifa, were watching television when they heard a noise like a large transport plane that seemed to fly over the city. The noise, in the words of the witnesses, was "continuous and more severe than the normal sound of the planes, and they seemed not to be moving away."

Fifteen minutes later, the noise returned but this time, moved by curiosity, Joseph looked out the window, and observed, for a few seconds, a V formation of seven red lights moving towards Algeciras.

Believing that it was a bomber, he returned to the living room of his home, but after fifteen minutes or so, the strange sound repeated, and this time, with his wife, he made a closer inspection of the enigmatic formation of red lights in V, identical to the one he had observed moments before.

He told us: "It was big and very slow... the red light did not blink...I was a bit surprised, because I'd never seen that kind of aircraft fly over here not at night...I certainly have not seen such planes, and they flew very low...".

We asked about the supposed shape of the aircraft, and he replied, "The truth is I do not remember if there was a fuselage."

This information created several questions: For the first time, witnesses indicated they heard a noise from the lights. This left us perplexed. No other witness of the almost fifty we would come to meet during the investigation heard any noise.

Another fact to consider in the above incident is that no white light was observed.

The case is complicated. And last but not least, the couple had been able to see objects and the lights twice. Although this detail was new to us, soon we found more evidence that would support the existence of several formations of unidentified lights in the skies that night in Cadiz.

EXPERT WITNESS: GIBRALTAR. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19. 1:40 HOURS

"Michael," a witness who belongs to a "security corps" also reported the presence of UFOs in the sky that night over the Strait of Gibraltar.

His testimony is of vital importance to the case because he is a highly qualified person, accustomed to the night security of the Strait, and was skilled at identifying all types of aircraft and boats.

Using night vision binoculars, he saw, in the starry sky, something unusual: several lights in perfect V formation that came from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. It was about five lights, four of which were red and the fifth, which was larger and white, at the vertex.

”Michael" took out his binoculars (40x70) to get a closer look at the mysterious lights.

He described what he saw:

"At first I saw a group of lights in V formation; through my binoculars the red lights were composed of two lights, one red and one blue, but what most struck me was the center, which was not a single light, but a group of about seven or eight white lights arranged symmetrically,

"The formation contained five separate objects and was not a solid group, I saw the
stars through the holes."

The observation lasted about 15 seconds, and the lights went from east to west; I did not hear any noise."

"Michael," in his profession, has had the opportunity to see a variety of aircraft in flight (day-night), both military and civilian, at the airport of Gibraltar, so that his testimony is important.

When asked if it could be some type of aircraft, he said, "I know of no aircraft using that kind of lighting; it is not normal."

Interestingly, a co-worker saw, between the hours 00:15 and 00:30 hours, the formation of five lights in a V formation, also flying in the same direction, but with this difference: the light at the vertex was red, and the other four were blinking.”

"Michael’s" testimony was key to the case. He was the only witness who had the training to contribute data to indicate a UFO hypothesis.

"FISHERMEN" FARO DE PUNTA CARNERO (ALGECIRAS). WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19 HOURS 23:30/ 12:15 PM / 1:00 HOURS:

Enrique Q. and Andrés C. P. y Cristóbal,decided to go fishing in the area of Faro, beyond Getares beach where the first witness (above) Antonio Conde resides.

They placed themselves under the ruins of the crumbling Civil Guardia barracks that exists in the area.

Around 23:30 hours, Enrique saw, in the starry sky, a row of fixed red lights:

Andres C., a restaurateur, said: "What I saw was a large group of red lights moving at a very slow speed, shaped like a boomerang, very large with more lights at a right angle on the left that was more closed.”

The row of lights disappeared in the distance, flying slow and steady.

Neither witness gave too much importance to the issue and continued fishing.

About 45 minutes later, Enrique gave an alarm. An unusual formation of red lights accompanied by a row of lights that changed color from blue to purple had appeared in the sky.

"They traveled the same way as the first group of lights, Enrique said, but the row of purple and blue lights gave him a whole aspect of being a "single object."

But there was more to come. Again forty-five5 minutes later, Andres C. observed an enormous row of red and green lights fixed in bizarre form:

Like the other two formations that came from the Getares area and disappeared in the distance, the three formations used virtually the same "air corridor."

Obviously those formations and groupings of aerial lights had no conventional symmetry, compared with the other configurations we recorded during our investigation.

In addition, for the first time, there was a clear allusion to the possibility that the witnesses were seeing a single object made up of a multitude of lights, but if so, the size of the aircraft must have been colossal, gigantic ...

Another vital point of the investigation was to determine the air traffic that night, a real key to this entire incident.

Therefore, after a couple of days of visits to different government agencies and phone calls, communicating directly with the Ministry of Defense in Madrid, the officer in charge of media relations told us that they "had detected no air traffic on the night of February 19 in the skies of Algeciras Bay."

He also categorically denied that there were any kind of aerial maneuvers, either Spanish or foreign, that could have lead to confusion among citizens who observed the night flights.

In short, "officially" the Defense Ministry had no answers to clarify what the UFO formations were that the dozens of witnesses described.

SOME CONCLUSIONS

These are complex cases for UFO research...

For these particular incidents, we can assert that the strange lights were UFOs in formation (in the most literal sense) since neither the authorities nor the witnesses were able to identify the nature of these lights.

But what were these formations of lights? Could they have been military aircraft, or secret prototypes?

It is abundantly clear that these were not conventional aircraft practicing simple aerial maneuvers from Rota airbase.

Keep in mind the high strangeness of some of the formations, both for their color and their maneuvers, seen by a highly qualified witness of night surveillance work, accustomed to identifying aircraft.

Gibraltar operates a civilian and military airport but failed to clarify what kind of aircraft this was, eliminating the possibility that they were a normal military aircraft.

After outlining the main documentation on the case, we are left with the following information:

1 On the night of February 19, 1997, at Algeciras Bay were overflights, between 23:10hours and 1:40 hours of, at least, seven formations of lights that changed shapes.

Halfway between the two sightings (Tarifa-Algeciras: San Garcia-Punta Carnero) lights were observed from a neighborhood far from Algeciras, named Pelayo.

The distance traveled by the formation of lights, between Tarifa and Algeciras, was about 20 km, and the total distance traveled was about 80 km.

2 Five of these groups of observed lights were different.

3a UFO formations were generally composed of several red lights (between five and eight), three or four times larger than a normal star.

The witnesses, as seen in this study, also speak of white, green, blue and purple lights, with several formations intermittently present in the lights.

3b Nobody reported a dark mass around the exterior or inside the interior of the lights which would have been a great help in identifying the alleged "aircraft."

The observation made with the aid of binoculars did not resolve this doubt, and the witness could not see any opaque body, although it should be noted that several fishermen indicated that one of the formations seemed solid, giving the appearance of being a single physical object. Therefore it is not unreasonable and can not be totally eliminated that some of the reported formations were a giant aircraft.

4a A white light was seen by several witnesses at the vertex of the formation consisting of a cluster of lights fixed geometrically but separated. This particular lighting excluded the possibility that the lights were from a conventional plane.

4b The red lights were composed, at least in one case, by two fixed, independent lights, one red and one blue.

5 The size of the formations were relatively large.

6 The formations had a steady course and speed. All formations moved at a very slow rate, as reported by all witnesses without exception.

7 Just a few witnesses heard sound. The noise was similar to that resulting from a plane with high tonnage.

8 The course of almost all formations followed an imaginary line between Tarifa, San García (Algeciras) and a point at sea, between Gibraltar and the African continent.

9 The Ministry of Defence confirms the total absence of air traffic in the area that might cause such observations.

Alien craft, secret prototypes, nocturnal maneuvers -- none can be ruled out when trying to shed light on one of the most striking UFO events that have occurred in Spain, and that to this day remains an unsolved.

Interestingly a very short time after these mysterious events, on March 13, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona, a famous and controversial UFO sighting occurred….

BIBENDUM: THE PERFECT "ARCHETYPE" FOR THE DISTORTION THEORY

If the Distortion Theory is correct , we should find groups of cases where mental stimulation, an exterior psychological (influence), is the same, having in common a symbol (archetype) very recognizable to many people.

This "icon" can come from, inter alia, literature, film, television, and even the world of advertising.

There are certain "images" that link to the human psyche, making them very popular and these are integrated into our mental universe. Hence, the "external agent" connecting (interacting) with the human psyche uses this "archetype" to "manufacture" experience.

However, each person’s particular imagination is able to transform this determined stimulus, giving details and characteristics that are unique (non-transferable to other witnesses).

A clear example of shared Distortion are the close encounters where the crew observed the UFO with the appearance of the famous Bibendum (the "Michelin Man").

France is one of the places with highest number of such cases.

Remember that the Michelin tire company was created in France in 1889. The Bibendum character was designed in 1898 by cartoonist O'Galop, commissioned by the brothers André and Édouard Michelin, in order to promote it at the Universal Exposition of that year.

To explore further the importance and influence in society of the Bidendum (add to mental paradigms), we note that in 2000, it was chosen as the best logo of the Twentieth Century, by the prestigious newspaper Financial Times and Report On Business magazine.

Apart from a common archetype, the “external agent” adds its own elements, for each witness to interpret (with their imagination) in their own way, although these points in common, in unconnected experiences, indicate that "something" outside the human mind is creating and facilitating the close encounters.

Interestingly, although the first incidents with this type of UFOs humanoids, occurred in France, a town in England begins our research:

1 The Encounter of "The Three Wise Men"

In November 1926, in Bolton, Lancashire (England), Henry Thomas, son of a policeman, ran away from home, in the evening, to meet with his friends.

They decided to play hide and seek. Henry went into an alley and saw an open door. Believing that one of his friends would be inside the courtyard, he decided to enter.

The young man was surprised to see three "people" in the back, watching through a window.

They wore strange clothes, like rubber, and shiny silver. The boots were dark. On the head they had a transparent helmet; several tubes were joined to some tanks, on their backs.

The three humanoids were of normal stature. They looked like the "Michelin Man", but more slender. The humanoids seemed to detect the child and turned to him.

Their heads were pale and resembled a light bulb, with dark eyes, a nose and barely defined mouth.

The most curious thing that Henry would say later about his mysterious encounter was that it seemed as if the humanoids were three wise men, despite their terrifying appearance.

One of the humanoids emitted a gurgling noise, and all three took notice of the child.

The young Thomas fled, racing for home, where he told his parents what happened.

This case represents one of the most puzzling encounters where the described humanoids were similar to the popular Bibendum.

Bolton was an industrial city and perhaps the child had seen advertising somewhere on the "Michelin Man.”

Also, this starts a singularity, as discussed below, that occur in many close encounters with anomalous entities of this type in which several of these experiences are not associated with UFOs.

2 Close Encounter in Maubeuge

On October 16, 1954, near Maubeuge (France) between Avesnes and Louvroil on the RN 2 road, connecting Paris to Brussels, at about 00:00, Monsieur Mozin was returning home in his car.

At about 800 meters on a hill, he saw lights.

When approaching, to about 100 meters, he saw that it was a cylindrical object, like a rocket, about two meters in diameter with several legs on its bottom.

Suddenly the lights went out of his vehicle, but the engine continued running.

He approached to within four or five meters of the artifact.

It was in a narrow space between the road and the ditch.

It had a leg height of about 30 cm, was a white metal with vertical lines every 10 cm in the fuselage.

It had a huge opening, and inside was a very intense white light (illuminating the exterior) from which hung thick cables or pipelines, along with a variety of buttons and switches.

He also saw a humanoid, approximately 1 meter high, with heavy boots and wearing a helmet that covered his shoulders. His suit looked like the "Michelin Man.”

Its face was not defined, nor its hands, and it moved very slowly, dragging its feet.

After monsieur was about 100 meters away, the lights on his automobile came back on.

The next day, Mozin, in the company of a friend, discovered the landing zone which was about 1.5 meters, within which were three deep, semicircular scars, forming a triangle, of 8 cm to 10 cm.

Iin the center of the triangle was a charred circle about 20 cm in diameter and they detected an odor like benzene.

Monsieur. Mozin suffered eight days of sleeplessness and “imagined” that the "Bidendum" appeared at the foot of his bed.

In this incident, we see an element that is common in most encounters with the "Michelin Man”: his movements are clumsy and slow.

In addition to the detail of the boot.

The researchers suggest that monsieur Mozin was able to visualize some days later the figure of Bibendum in his bedroom because of the latent effects of distortion.

3 Bidendum and the paralyzed ray

On May 15, 1955, in Dinan, Côtes d'Armor (France) at about 00:15 pm,a Mr. Droguet (employed at a university), was returning home after seeing a movie.

When he opened his back door, he heard a noise, then he saw a ray of green/blue light which hit him in the face.

His knees shook and his hair stood on end. He felt a strange vibration.

In the courtyard of the university, the witness observed a huge object of about 12 meters in diameter, a saucer-shaped dome, floating about 1.50 meters above the ground.

Next to the object, Mr Droguet, saw two beings, about 1.60 meters in height, wearing something "like wetsuits," metallic gray in color, very similar to the Michelin Man.

They seemed to have noticed the presence of the witness.

Theyboth had on a very thick helmet and gloves, and from their bellies protruded a small black box containing several cables.

One of the humanoids seemed to collect "rocks" from the gravel road, while his companion inspected the surroundings.

They "approached a window and looked at the boiler room."

The witness was very scared but could not move, He was paralyzed with fear.

Although whether by fright, or by the action of a light that lit up the mysterious artifact, Mr Droguet said he thought he saw, inside the object, a third crew member who handled a "light projector" that was watching him.

Then the two humanoids, moving with difficulty (as if they had weighted feet) entered into the artifact by a central black hole in the bottom, where there was a metal ladder.

The witness could hear the metal steps as the beings climbed them.

Then he felt something like "an air suction" and the artifact raised vertically, rotating above the trees in complete silence.

Monsieur Droquet regained mobility and fled to his home.

The experience lasted about fifteen minutes, although the witness it has lasted much longer.

Henri Durrant said, in the magazine "Lumiere Dans la Nuit," about the collection of gravel from the road that "the aliens have little common sense, at least they were not really doing geology studies, but [perhaps] research on human urbanism."

In this case we see some characteristics already described by the Theory of Distortion in other reports, 1) The use of a recognizable archetype for the action of the crew (the collection of soil samples) and 2) The crew of UFO used "light rays" to immobilize the witness.

4 A "space rider" in the French countryside

The ufologist Jean-Michel Ligeron, interviewed a woman, Madeleine Pierrard who, in the early 1950's, had a close encounter with a UFO in Vaux-en Dieulet (France), when she was fourteen.

About 6:30 am, accompanied by her father and his dog, she went for the cows in his herd.

When suddenly she heard a strange noise like phonemes, Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!.

Suddenly she saw a fireball approaching.

It landed in front of witnesses and she found that it was shaped like a flying saucer.

Her father told her not to move because he feared that they might get burned.

The device was translucent (like glass).

Inside the object they saw a small humanoid about 1'40 meters in height, with a suit like that of a diver, with arms outstretched. (It seemed he could not move).

His appearance reminded them of the Michelin Man.

Its head was helmeted, similar to a motorcycle helmet, with a transparent visor (of a material like Plexiglas), with two tubes that were connected to two bottles on its back.

The humanoid was motionless, staring at Madeleine but she felt a warm sensation (similar to long exposure in the sun).

After two minutes the flying saucer began spinning like a top as it rose up. (They had heard the same noise the beginning.),

The object went toward the town of Buzancy. The ground had a burnt area.

There is a picture of Bibendum and wearing motorcycle helmets very similar to that described by the witness.

It should be noted, that the reader will note that most of the dolls marketed as Bibendum were too rigid, his arms stuck in the body or extended leaving a sense of extreme rigidity.

Also note that the humanoids are often observed staring at the witnesses.

5 Close Encounter in Spain

In May or June 1960, in Jerez, Cadiz (Spain), the teacher Miguel Ceballos Timermans riding his motorcycle between the towns of King's Meadow and Arcos de la Frontera, while climbing a hill, found a giant humanoid on a side of the road.

It was about 150 meters away, and seemed to be inflated.

The witness stopped his motorcycle. The strange passerby was wearing a red suit, from head to toe, and walked toward the witness.

It looked like the "Michelin Man.”

It walked slowly like a robot with rigid and articulated movements. It was, at least, two meters high.

Mr. Timermans did not see the face of the humanoid.

The witness observed that another being came from behindthe first one, with the same features, but much smaller, 1 meter high.

Also it differed in that one of his legs had a dark side, in contrast to whole body being lit.

Mr. Timermans said that it might have been a boot.

The two humanoids crossed the road diagonally, and quickly disappeared from view. Curiously Miguel went to the spot but he could not see anything. The things had simply disappeared.

The aspect and detail of the boot, leaves no doubt that the "Michelin Man" was the origin of this distorted experience.

Also as indicated by the witness, the humanoids did not continue their walk; they simply disappeared, indicating that the phenomenon had the sole purpose of, being seen by Mr. Timermans.

6/7 The humanoid who greeted

On December 6, 1967, in Haute-Vienne (France), around 6:00 pm, the Pealons, from inside their observed a small humanoid floating about 1.10 meters in the air near the embankment of the road.

He had a suit like the Michelin Man, and the head was like a balloon.

Before disappearing the humanoid raised his arm twice.

A similar case occurred in Saint Nizier in Moucherotte (France) in the summer of 1974.

Overnight, J. F. C. Granier and his brother H., were inside their vehicle when they observed a humanoid about 1.60 meters tall, motionless beside the road. His face was completely smooth like a dolls and it was dressed like the Michelin Man.

Its arms were very long. The mysterious "being" turned around and disappeared into the undergrowth. Hours later, another witness saw a similar humanoid that disappeared with a big leap.

It should be noted that one of the favorite positions of Bibendum, in ads, is “hello” with its arm raised.

8 Encounter in The Island of Reunion

On July 31, 1968, in Le Tampon, Reunion Island (France), a farmer of 22 years, Luce Fontaine, was gathering herbs for his rabbit, about 9:00 am.

He noticed an odd, transparent (in its center), opaque blue egg-shaped device floating about four or five feet off the ground, at a distance of 25 meters.

The UFO was about 5 meters wide and 2.50 meters high.

It emitted a white light similar to that of an "electric arc.”

It had some kind of very large, shiny metal legs at its top and bottom.

In the center of the artifact, he oberserved two humanoids about 90 cm tall, dressed as astronauts and looking like the "Michelin Man.”

They had great helmets on that partially hid their face.

When they discovered the presence of the witness, the object emitted a blinding flash and a blast of hot air [as it departed].

The witness’s nose bled for eight days after the experience.

The gendarmerie investigated the encounter, and the director of fire and rescue departments, Captain Leopoldo Legros, found, in the hat and pants of Mr. Fontaine, traces of above normal radioactivity.

At the site of the incident, Mr. Legros found in six points, lined 3 in 3, and abnormal radioactivity.

The researcher J. P. Lavilgrand reported that, Captain Legra, within five meters in the place where the UFO stood, eight herb plant stems had 60 mil Roentgen.

The measures were not "alarming", but keep in mind the measurementd were made ten days after the incident, and probably rain that affected the area, had lowered the radioactivity.

Again we find an incident where the UFO is described as translucent. And also note the interesting detail that the humanoid face is never described clearly.

9 Encounter in Argentina

On April 13, 1972, Luis P., 17, and his friend Rodolfo, 18, traveling at night, were driving towards Miramar (Argentina), experienced a strange event, inexplicably straying from the road, and suffering a strong rain.

Arriving at their apartment, they felt very tired and slept 24 hours.

They had some confusion about the time of arrival, and were surprised that the road appeared dry, and the concierge told them that it had not rained. However, their vehicle was the only car, in the parking area, that was stained with mud.

9 years later, Luis began to remember, with the help of researchers Alicia Coscarella, and Eduardo Irioni y Norma Pregliasco, what had happened that mysterious night.

He and Rodolfo observed a spinning top-shaped object containg two giant humanoids about 1.80 meters tall, with human features.

They had on big helmets, like those of diving gear.

They were about 15 meters away from the witnesses. They carried the two young men inside the UFO.

Luis said; “The interior of the craft contained a small chamber measuring some three meters, illuminated without any apparent source of light.

There was also a black “dentist’s chair” behind a column that led to a sort of “fireman’s pole.”

One part led upward and the chair was adhered to the pole.

Luis was taken by the arm and gently seated on the chair.

Rodolfo was taken elsewhere, to the left, which appeared to be the main part of the craft.

Once seated, Luis was strapped with a belt that he described as similar to “those on a bumper car.”

Luis’s humanoid resembled the "Michelin Man," but was more slender.
“His feet were like "flog´s legs.”

A bubble or bowl was put on Luis head and emitted a fog which became orange.

There was silence.

Suddenly, another humanoid appeared in the company of Rodolfo. Taking away the "bowl" the young men descended the UFO realizing the time as 10:20 hours.

In this incident we see as the factors distorting the young witnesses, by adding baffling and surreal elements (specific and non-transferable) to the experience: dental chairs, belts like those on a bumper car and “frog legs.”

10 Strangers Humanoids at night

On January 7, 1974, near Warneton (Belgium), near France, at about 20:40 hours, a Belgian businessman was driving down the road when, suddenly, his car lights went off, the engine died and the radio stopped working.

In a nearby field, about 150 meters away, the witness observed a strange object in the form of a British soldier's helmet with three legs.

At the same moment, he saw two figures approaching his car.

There were two different humanoids, one tall "individual" wearing a military uniform, with a cross-belt and bullets, and a cubed helmet on its head.

The smaller humanoid, resembling the Michelin Man, wore a helmet and had eyes like marbles;
the mouth was a simple slit in the face.

Their faces looked the same and both suits were in one piece.

The "soldier" opened his mouth and the witness felt a discomfort in the neck and heard a modulated sound.

Then came another car in the distance and both turned in unison, the humanoids, walking stiffly, like robots, but with agility, without being affected by the mud of the road. They went to the artifact which took off just as the other vehicle was coming.

The use by the witness of words related to the military to describe the experience (UFO like an English military helmet, humanoid with clothing like a military uniform, belt with bullets), indicates prior knowledge of the witness (on these particular military issues) that appear "distorted" in the close encounter.

11 Mysterious "astronauts" in Cote-d'Or

On June 19, 1974, in Cote-d'Or (France), during the night, three men were chatting beside a road, when they observed a luminous object flying very slowly, coming down behind a hill.

One witness approached the scene of the alleged landing. There was a white, dome-shaped object, wider than high, with two large, red lights on its surface.

With binoculars, the witness observed that there were two burly beings with helmets, in front of the object. They seemed to be wearing a very heavy costume, similar to the Michelin Man.

The witness not could see any legs. He then heard shots made by a poacher, and left immediately. Other witnesses corroborate that UFOs were seen before and after the incident.

Again we find the testimony of a person who tells us that the humanoid suits were heavy.

12 Bidendum return to the island of Reunion

On February 14, 1975, at Petite Ile, Reunion Island (France) Antoine Severin butcher, 21, at noon, leaving work, he heard a sound like "beep-beep-beep.”

Before, during several days, he had had strange dreams where he heard a sound like...[?]

Arriving in a corn field, following the sound he heard, he observed a metal disc with a dome, like a big car, 2 meters high and 3.5 meters in diameter, and suspended about 45 cm the ground.

The witness felt an intense heat and was unable to move.

A ladder, appeared, unfolded at an angle of 45 degrees, but it cannot touch the ground.

Out came three small humanoids between 90 cm and 1.22 m tall with bright "space suits" like the "Michelin Man.”

They had helmets with antennas on each side.

The witness pointed out that they moved with agilitydown the ladder and on the ground.

The first "entity" on the ground used a long stick with which he scraped the ground.

The second humanoid carried a bag.

A fourth crew member was inside the disc, and discovering Mr. Severin shot a ray of bright light.

The three humanoids returned immediately to the object, which rose after issuing a whistling noise.

After observing the UFO, the witness suffered various physical ailments, losing his sight, was speechless, and was about five days in a state similar to semi-coma.

(The witness did not know the incident of 1968.)

In this case we see perfectly the elements used by the distortion to create the experience, which often mix details supplied by the "“external agent”" with the mental contribution of the witness.

Consider the three points that can be found in other experiences and product of "“external agent”": 1) UFO semi-transparent. 2) The use of the archetype of the "sampling". 3) "shooting rays of light" against the witness.

13 Bibendum in a Tornado

On March 14, 1974, Marines, Valencia (Spain), minutes before 22:00, Vicente Corell with his wife, Carmen, stopped his car at a Stop sign to enter another road.

At that time, Carmen observed a strange light white/pink oval that disappeared quickly.

At 100 or 200 meters, he saw a cloud of dust, rising from the ground.

The small "tornado" was 1 meter above the ground, close to the road. It was moving in the same direction as the car of the witnesses.

The lights of the vehicle penerated the vortex, showing a figure. It was a very tall humanoid, with arms and legs attached to the body, giving him the appearance of a column.

The humanoid wore a very tight one-piece, dark but shiny suit.

The arms of the body wre completely stuck and did not move at any time.

The hands were closed fists. The neck was thin and the head, small compared with the rest of the body. The face was smooth, and in the front, each side had "stood two small lights." Vicente said the suit, for its part of the chest and arms was very similar to the "Michelin Man.”

With the vehicle parked on the side of the road, the humanoid made a turn, touched the ground and was completely at attention (like a soldier).

At that moment, the lights of the car turned off.

The car began to smoke in the engine area. The humanoid looked toward the witnesses.

Vicente, nervous and afraid, left the premises until they ceased to see the mysterious being.

Later, they were helped by other vehicles, but none of them had seen the humanoid.

When Mrs. Corell, took the car to the shop, the mechanics found that the cable connecting the switch with the left headlight was completely burned.

Two details attract your attention at this encounter. The static position of the humanoid is very reminiscent of the Michelin dolls, the company Michelin, marketed in Spain, where Bibedum always appeared with arms close to body. Also this particular detail, could be influenced (distorted) by the witnesses, since returning home after attending the ceremony of swearing-in ceremony of his son, who was in the military service. And Vicente himself who explains that the humanoid behaved in a firm military fashion.

14 Abducted by Bibedum

On June 30, 1976 west of Colby, Kansas (USA) A young couple, accompanied by their baby of a few months, claims that while driving on I-70,they observed several objects like flying saucers.

One disk was about 12 meters high. The object was about 45 meters in diameter.

On reaching home found that they had come much later than normal.

With the help of hypnosis, the Dedulcas found they were abducted and subjected to medical examination within a UFO.

They remembered that three humanoids, with round eyes and helmets, and bodies like the "Michelin Man", communicated with them through telepathy.

The crew had a height between 1.50 and 1.60 meters, and they do not recall having seen hands or feet.

After the experience, the witnesses found needle marks on their arms, and marks on their ankles like wrist-restraint straps. They also had a "rash" and "scratches" on their backs, which healed quickly.

15 Encounter in Belgium

On January 1, 1979, in Schoonarde (Belgium), two young men, Johan Van Boven, 10, and Dimitri, 13, (a child with mental problems) at about 8:00 a.m. saw a disc shaped object with a dome, which landed in a field behind their house.

The researcher Denys Breysse, said two small humanoids left the object, and wore "inflated rubber" suits much like the "Michelin Man.”

In Belgium, Bibendum he was also very popular.

16 Encounter in Turkey

Little is known about an incident that occurred in Incerlik (Turkey), where in the summer of 1991, according to records of the researcher and friend Albert Rosales, a U.S. Army military man observed a humanoid wearing a spiral, metal suit similar to Michelin Man.

In this particular incident, we find the only close encounter with this type of entity that ends in a classic episode of abduction and medical examination.

It is somewhat shocking that in the many cases noted, except for the strange case of Argentina, the Bibendum, only "abducted" some witnesses.

ADDITIONAL CASES

Although the reports produced by researchers in these next three events, do not directly mention the term "Michelin Man" to describe the clothing of the occupants of the UFO, I think they are "distortions" of the famous Bibendum, mixed with the "astronaut" concept.

17 UFO "damaged" in New Mexico

In a late June or July 1972, in Deming, New Mexico (USA), Mrs. Hilda McAfee and her mother, driving in the direction of Las Cruces where, about 23 miles east of Deming, she was surprised to see a blinding ray of light.

Amid the strong light, she observed two figures of average height, wearing pale blue overalls. The costume was very large, with wide belts, gloves, and dark boots. On their heads was a case with the dark visor.

The humanoids were not concerned by the presence of women.

They were "repairing" or "working" under a artifact that emitted a blue light, while talking to each other.

They seemed rigid in their movements. Patti Morris, a researcher, said the women believed they had hit the artifact with their vehicle as it was in the middle road. They also speculate that the "light" of the device was used to avoid an accident.

The two women had burning, sharp pains in the chest and arms after the encounter on the road.

Interestingly, the husband of Mrs. McAfee, Mike Rogers, is the brother of one of the witnesses of the famous Travis Walton case.

18 A small "army" of light Bibendum

On June 25, 1974, in St. Cyrille, Quebec (Canada) at the 1:15 hour, Mr. M. L., 29, going to bed, after watching television, heard strange noises outside his trailer, as if something had fallen to the ground, Boom! Boom!

From the living room window, he observed a strange, luminous reddish/orange disk floating about 1.20 meters, over a nearby field.

In fear, he woke his wife when he heard a "buzz."

Looking out the bedroom window, they watched, less than 4'5 feet away, a silhouette like a robot.

From the living room window, they saw three humanoids about 1.80 meters tall.

On the chest of the robots were red lights in thick, horizontal lines, (like in toasters). The researcher Wido Hoville speaks of infrared light.

The lights flashed on and off. The arms appeared to be metallic.

Because of this effect of light and the darkness of the night, they could not see the faces of the humanoids.

The humanoids moved like robots with articulated movements and floated about 90 cm above the ground.

The robots examined an uninhabited trailer in the area, especially the wheel and the shaft.

(Would it would be possible that visitors from space, crossing the galaxy, did not know the wheel!).

During the experience, which lasted about 3 hours, the couple came to count up to fifteen humanoids.

All the robots were placed in a perfect line by a nearby stream.

At about 4:20 pm, the luminous disk and the bright creatures were gone.

Apparently an anonymous woman called police to report the presence of a UFO and crew.

John Roy, a resident of Drummdvillem, found three oval rings of flattened grass at the alleged place of landing.

They had a size of 5 meters by 3.30 meters in diameter, with a perimeter of 60 cm of crushed grass.

Within the circles, they found three depressions of 1.20 cm.

Three months after the incident, the footprints were still visible, and the grass inside the rings had grown 2 times more than normal.

Also found were flat pieces of a strange white substance, similar to plastic in the area where they saw the robots.

Subsequently, Mr. M. L. learned that a very fierce dog of a neighbor, fled the night of the encounter, taking several days to reappear.

On the morning of June 30, 1974, a strong glow woke Mr. M. L. and again, at the window, he watched a flying saucer landing on the site.

A neighbor come by in a car, but the artifact was gone.

No remains of the landing were found.

In these incidents, we see that the distortion is present, not only in the appearance of the humanoids, which, again, move rigidly as robots (detail omnipresent in our study) and their attire reminiscent of Bibendum, but also in the elements that make the whole experience: 1) The pervasive "ray of light" (in both cases); 2) The use of recognizable and assimilated archetypes of “road reapir" (USA case) and a "study of the area" (Canada case).

Does such behavior indciate extraterrestrial astronauts, fixing a spaceship in the middle of a road? And is it reasonable that 15 robots, illuminated like Christmas trees, are placed in formation, near a river?

19 A strong humanoid in a small UFO

On February 10, 1977, in Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Lois Stovall, watched, from the window of her home, a strange luminous object approaching.

Accompanied by her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Buckner, she went into the yard to see it better.

The capsule-shaped artifact (2 meters high and 70 cm in diameter) with a transparent opening in the front that had dark vertical bars was located near a small tree, less than 15 meters away.

Inside the object, they saw a gray humanoid, inflated like a balloon, with stripes on its joints, such as suits of astronauts and the doll-like Michelin Man.

They could not see hands or feet.

The humanoid was 1.20 cm in height, cramped into a small space, which barely fit, with light coming from his feet.

Ms. Buckner, approached the object, but could not touch it because it was higher than she could reach.

The humanoid face, behind glass, was barely visible.

Suddenly the artifact went up and flew away.

Ms. Stovall observed three helicopters, with bright red lights in their cockpits, flying at low altitude, by a nearby school and even flew over the object, apparently, not observing the capsule.

The witness observed between five and six helicopters circling the area.

Mrs. Dessie Turner also observed the object, with a dark figure inside, and the strange helicopters.

Research conducted by APRO could not determine the origin of the mysterious helicopters.

This case is very interesting. Again we find a transparent UFO and a humanoid that barely fits in the cockpit. Details of the three helicopters can be an added "distortion" of this type of aircraft, but the puzzling elements, that are added to the whole experience give it an absurd air (oneiric, from our point of view).

CONCLUSION

We have analyzed nineteen incidents where humanoids were observed, very similar to the corporate emblem of a French tire company.

The phenomenon of distortion states that in order to see these types of humanoids, the psyche of the witness is used by the “external agent.”

Most of these close encounters have occurred in France (9) and two in neighboring Belgium (one even close to the frontier), and two in Spain, where Bibendum was very popular, thirteen cases in total, in the areas most influenced by the Bibendum/Michelin Man logo -- France/Belgium/Spain.

Therefore, throughout this report we have shown how the phenomenon of distortion works.

In addition to using images and information from the unconscious of the witness, the “external agent” provides "components" one should not miss in the final result of the experience.

Apart from subjective interpretations of each witness, these factors provided by the “external agent” (rays of light, transparency, breakdowns, sample collections, and trace elements) are intended to provide evidence, that after an apparent "individual mental phenomenon," something more complex is underlying the experience, something hidden behind the fabric of history.

This would explain why we find in other close encounters, the same “details” in the background of the stories: paralysis, light rays, landings in the middle of the road, breakdowns, collected samples, et cetera.

The “external agent” has certain fixed constants, but with variables and malleable, suggesting that whatever the outward form of humanoids (created during the Distortion), its size, color and costume, their behaviors are not far from some schemes (models) previously established by the mysterious "external factor.”

The same applies to the outer shape of UFOs. Before the distortion caused by the action of the witness, almost all artifacts and "aliens" have a quasi-fixed description: Three landing legs, a metallic look, lights, ladders, et cetera, the rest a result of a creation or the intervention of the psyche (and imagination) of the witness.

In our study we found and documented that close encounters with entities like the Bibendum, are represented almost in all aspects, elements, characteristics, and actions that one finds in any kind of UFO experience starring other entities (regardless of their bizarre appearance).

It is therefore logical to assume that the external appearance of the incidents (flying saucer and crew) is "flexible and circumstantial" to each witness, and that only in the background do they keep an almost fixed structure.

It should be noted the participation of the unconscious influences all the images, which helped to design the look of the Bibendum humanoids, as they also had characteristics of the suits of astronauts of the time, both those used by NASA, or described in the novels, comics and TV, films science fiction, et al.

Nor can we ignore that the participation of more people, sharing the experience, also provides evidence that the phenomenon of close encounters is the result of the merger or interaction of the human mind with an unknown “external agent.”

This interaction allows the events to materialize, physically, "mental elements and concepts" from the oneiric-like experiences; that is, this "anomalous manifestation" occurs, contrary to our dreams, in a way that creates an "objective, tangible and independent" reality that challenges our concept and understanding of the “objective reality” that surrounds us.

CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH THE "APOLLO XI": DISTORTION IN IMAGES

On March 12, 1981, Juan Gonzalez Santos, 42, was driving his van on the highway N-340(Algeciras-Cádiz). Suddenly lights among the trees caught his attention.

The light, in the words of the witness, was very similar to the flashes of an ambulance or police car.

He stopped his car because he thought it was an accident (Juan belonged to Civil Protection, Cruz Roja).

As he approached, he observed that it was a strange metallic object, white, dome-shaped, with lights flashing on top.

Days before his encounter, Juan Gonzalez had seen a television documentary about the man on the Moon. So, he thought that the artifact could be a lunar-lander and the crew U.S. astronauts.

The object had circular windows, and inside, Juan saw "people" dressed in tight-fitting brown suits.

The head was covered except for the face. Over the ears were what looked like headphones.

The object rested on three telescopic legs, the legs terminating in a bowl-shaped piece (pan).

Also there was a central staircase.

On the fuselage, he saw a black symbol resembling a swastika.

The witness tried to approach the object, but a flash of light prevented him doing so.

After 15 or 20 minutes of observation, the object rose up and disappeared in the distance.

During the experience, no vehicles appeared on the highway -- very strange because the N-340 usually has much traffic.

DISTORTION IN IMAGES

(The drawings and sketches presented in this report are copied from those made in the 80's, by researcher JJ Benítez, in his book "La punta del Iceberg" from 1983, so they have not been altered by me to coincide with my inquiries.)

In this spectacular event, not only can we trace the influence of the (mental) distortion in the creation of the experience, we can also see, with pictures, how it developed:

1 Juan Gonzalez Santos observed a bright flare-like lights of an ambulance or police car. The witness belonged to Civil Protection and participated in operations with Fire, police and ambulances.

2 The device looked like a LEM. Days before he had seen a television documentary on the Apollo XI. The artifact seemed to be the product of a mental distortion of the Eagle module.

3 When very close to the object, the witness observed two bumps on the top of the object that emitted flashes of light. (One can see that the bumps are exactly equal to the arrangement of the lights of an ambulance with the Civil Protection he drove for his work.

4 The landing legs at the bottom were like bowl-shaped objects. The similarity (Distortion) with Eagle's (Lunar Lander) legs are obvious.

5 The crew of the UFO had headphones and a suit that covered the entire body except the face. Same as Neil Armstrong's space suit.

6 The symbol observed by the witness could be due to the distortion, probably one of these two elements:

a. The Nazi swastika. The author found that the witness knew well the existence of the emblem used by Germany in WWII, which I think is the possibility for the distortion.

b. The Central Nuclear de Santa Maria de Garona (Burgos, Spain) has a similar symbol, and was well known at the time of the encounter via newspapers and television.

CONCLUSIONS

We found that the psychic influence is very present in this UFO landing, and have even shown the images that could cause the (mental level) distortion.

The observation of the documentary about the Apollo XI is the main information for the unconscious creation of the experience with other aspects of daily life of the witness (ambulances, lights, swastikas) transformed into alien elements, thanks to the presence of distortion.

In the field, the researchers found three footprints, to show that the experience had not been the product of a simple hallucination. The “distortion” is somewhat more complex ...

THE "SPACE RIDER" WHO CAME IN FROM OUTER SPACE?

In a simple search from the casuistry UFO, anywhere in the world, you can find the effects of "distortion" without difficulty.

If UFO researchers had conditioned (guided) their investigations to search for the "psychological factors" that may have influenced (distorted) UFO experiences, we would have had many different kinds of other surprises.

But that isn’t the case; witnesses who’ve seen documentaries or movies that contain analogies of encounters (UFO shapes, humanoid clothing, behavior of the crew, concrete details, etc) will interpolate the elements of those documentaries or movies into their experience.

Distortion theory can explain, without resorting to complex psychological hypotheses, the variety of humanoid types and the absurd or unreal of many UFO experiences.

Some researchers say the phenomenon deliberately chooses to display its manifestations to look illogical and absurd (Vallee), assuming that "entities" must know perfectly the human psyche (and logic) to represent a "thing" as absurd in the eyes of witnesses.

They create a "control system" making the concept ridiculous, bizarre and illogical to perfection, to dramatize it. This is very unlikely.

However, Distortion Theory explains these aspects as absurd as it would be the primary result of the Distortion, the human mind (with the interaction of an external agent) projects a reality, "altered" and unknown (like oneiric experience, mixing fantastic and normal elements, at random, to create a dream).

The triggering factor (origin) of close encounters comes from an unknown "external agent."

The external agent selects the witnesses and the site according to their unknown purposes.

The essential argument of the experience (extraterrestrial visitation) is chosen (projected) by the "external agent," although most of the items displayed at the encounter result from the merger of the minds of the witnesses (distortion effect) with the producer (sender) as an external factor. It also helps in building the experience, from common elements recognizable to the human species contained in the collective unconscious (Jung).

However, the "external agent" contributes (provides) some common factors with other UFO experiences (in different parts of the world), so that they will not be confused with hallucinations, delusions or simple mental (and physical markings). Even the alleged physical traces left on the ground after a UFO landing are still easily recognizable although they are distortions of elements by the witnesses (and researchers): footsteps, burns, holes, stains of "oil" etc.

Why have we not found evidence of another type, difficult to pigeonhole in our scientific parameters? Can a technical spacecraft (unimaginable to our modern science) leave trails as a simple terrestrial machine?

An example of Distortion in a classic encounter of third kind in Spain:

On July 1, 1979, in Sangonera la Verde (Murcia) four young people, Gines Jimenez, 18, Jesus Gregorio Ballester, 17, Antonio Guirao, 16, and Jose Carrillo, 14, around 00:00, had a terrifying encounter with a giant humanoid.

Traveling on motorcycles, they went into the forest with the intention of gathering birds' nests.

When they arrived, they saw, on "El Cabezo Colorao" (a nearby hill), a light coming down from heaven.

It was a very bright, circular, and luminous white, illuminating the surrounding area.

It was the size of a car, and landed about 400 meters from where they were. Using the headlight of the motorcycle, they made flares, which were answered by this "thing" with intermittent light.

After several minutes of observation, the witnesses heard the sound of footsteps in the bushes, and saw the emergence, in the shadows of the night, a giant humanoid who was gawky and slow.

They told the press in 1979, the "being" was 2.5 meters tall, had "a kind of raincoat, something like plastic, zippered with pockets, chest lines, and a kind of mask or helmet square on the head."

The “being” walked slowly, the witnesses saying the walk was "like a gorilla or a monster from the movies."

The appearance of the humanoid was similar to that of a rider. With the dark visor on the helmet and tight “plastic” clothing" with zippers and pockets on the "jacket", the “being” was more appropriate as a Harley Davidson fan than that of a spacefarer.

Most reports of alleged extraterrestrial humanoids say that their clothing is completely without buttons, seams, joints or any kind of zipper, which is obviously not the case in this particular incident. Besides the clothes, "plastic" was in vogue at the time of the apparition.

Ginés Jiménez said the "giant" spoke in a language they could not understand. Scared, the four youths fled to the village. Some neighbors had seen the light off the mountain in the distance, so they did not doubt the testimony of the young people.

At the place of the close encounter, the researchers found crushed grass, only two giant humanoid footprints (but only one was perfect) and three marks deep in the ground from the supposed legs of the artifact.

These three tracks, according to researcher Jesus Sanchez, were arranged in an isosceles triangle, showing that the object had adapted to uneven ground, to maintain a level plane inside the artifact.

With respect to the footprint, it was an average 38 centimeters and very wide, 14 centimeters, sunk into the ground demonstrating that the humanoid was very heavy.

The other partial footprint was found (oblique to the first), but, inexplicably, no more traces, were found on the alleged track of the humanoid of more than 400 meters back and forth -- more than 800 meters and only one perfect mark -- impossible if they were part of a physical phenomenon.

To the mind of the four witnesses, the "humanoid" "materialized" (Distortion) like a "rider from space", helmet included. The witnesses had motorcycles and modern, youthful clothing and their behavior in the night, was typical for teenagers; it was terrifying, as in horror movies. Just describing the humanoid caused fear.

So again we are faced with an episode of Distortion, where the humanoid in
particular, is "constructed” from the psyche of the teens, and the rest of the evidence and elements of the event (like other frequent close encounters) a product of the "external agent."

I invite you to find another "space rider," with zippers and pockets, in the large humanoid casuistry.

You probably will not find it ... but if found, strive to look for the undeniable effects of the Distortion...

On August 21st, 1955, in the small town of Kelly, near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, a family encountered strange beings, thought to be creatures from a landed flying saucer.

AN ARMY OF ALIENS IN A "BUS"

One night in mid-September 1971, Juan Rodriguez Dominguez, 80, was guarding a melon farm owned by a lieutenant general of infantry, called "Los Lunarejos" in Aznalcóllar (Sevilla).

About 10:00 pm, Juan, came into the village, very nervous and very scared.

He told his neighbors that "something" very big, like a bus, had landed in the field.

The researchers Ignacio Darnaude and Manuel Osuna managed to interview the witness.

Juan said that about 350 feet away, he watched the landing of a large luminous object, from which descended out of two doors (front, side and back side) a large number of humanoids.

The witness said it was very similar to buses on route to the capital Seville.

He saw more than 50 men of small stature wearing tight, blue uniforms.

They wore "visors" or "something" that prevented him from seeing their faces.

They advanced like a small army, without speaking, in perfect order.

They all went in the direction of a well.

5 or 6 humanoids stayed in the vicinity of the device.

One of small beings had a "lantern" that shone on the witness, causing minor discomfort.

Juan was armed with a shotgun, but never thought of using it (deterred by the large number of humanoids).

At that time, he believed that the beings sent him a mental command (telepathy) to leave the place. He did so, fleeing in fear to the village.

At first Juan thought it might even be an attempted coup against the regime of Francisco Franco.

In the landing place, there appeared traces of a multitude of small footprints.

No doubt this incident is a case of distortion, as Juan Rodriguez, had done military service, worked for a high-ranking military and humanoids behaved and dressed as military.

Besides, the "vehicle" that came down with more than 50 "soldiers" was very similar to the bus that the witness was accustomed to seeing pass through the village.

In fact, the “vehicle” had two doors like that bus which contained lots of people just like the humanoids in the UFO.

Juan unconsciously combined the passengers factor with the military factor (the military is evident throughout all the experience ).

Even the conduct of the alleged alien who shined a light on Juan, was the same as what a military troop might do.

What logic is there in a landing of 50 humanoids to see a well?

WHO ILLUMINATED FROM THE STARS?

There are many cases that remain, in the archives of the researchers, who perpetuate their questions with the passing of the years, incidents that are well documented but beyond all logic.

Even within the varied UFO universe, these cases are considered unorthodox rarities.

In September 1976, 4:30 a.m., a crew of a DC-9 en route to Madrid (via Frankfort/Barcelona) observed a perplexing, powerful beam of light that illuminated a wide circle to the north of Reus.

The illuminated area covered, as calculated by the commander Alfonso Gonzalez, 30 to 40 miles (!) about 60 kilometers and could be observed by another flight which was about 200 miles from the position of the DC-9.

"There, in front of the plane, was a strong beam of light that seemed to come from the top of the sky. And the cone of light [shone down on the] Earth!".

Gonzalez said, "We could not see the source of the light beam. It was as if a giant spotlight was illuminating part of the soil. But we were so high up that it was impossible to detect exactly what it was illuminating.

All I can say is that was of tremendous height, illuminating a wide circle, somewhat north of Reus.

We were half-way at that time over Maella, and I could see perfectly.

I flew to 30,000 feet. and the light beam was much higher.

The impressive thing is that my colleague, Commander Gomez Gonzalez, was watching from the Pyrenees, about 200 miles away. Can you imagine the height and brightness of that ray?

I approached the beam and gave it two laps and saw that the light cone indeed widened as it descended.

The white circle, on the ground, could add another 30 or 40 miles in diameter. It was enormous! "(Source J.J. Benitez Encuentros en Montaña Roja. 1981.).

The light was bright white in color and lit up everything like day.

The light cone remained static (no flicker) shining in the field (with an inclination of about 45 degrees), and could be observed for at least 30 minutes.

The DC-9 flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet and the point of origin of the light beam could not be distinguished, as it was several thousand feet above the aircraft's position.

The circle projected on the ground was perfect and denoted a mysterious power of extreme focus.

The illuminated area covered the Ebro delta area and lit the Mediterranean Sea.

Needless to say that the spectacular significance of this case appears to be beyond doubt as Spanish UFO researcher J. J. Benitez himself notes:

"Judging from the accounts of witnesses, the light cone had a formidable power. And the intensity remained constant.

There were no apparent changes in fluctuations or the stream of light.

This fact, combined with the perfection of the circle that lit up the sea and part of the Spanish coast, leads me to believe, almost by pure logical deduction, that the beam had an origin or source clearly artificial and provoked. But by whom and for what ?"

Was it a military experiment with satellites (never repeated again) or are we facing a new UFO enigma?

EXTRATERRESTRIAL MECHANICS: THE ARCHETYPE AND “DISTORTION”

Close encounters with UFOs, are characterized by elements (excuses) recognizable by the witnesses, so that the observation parameters are made under "reasonable" concepts, in the extraordinary context that represents the vision of a "flying saucer.”

Thus, what the witness thinks "dominates" (controls) to some extent their observation.

Witnesses identify behaviors and attitudes as completely normal in cases of extraterrestrial visitors. They behave as would any person, for example, who has suffered a setback on the road.

This is why one of the most common scenarios preferred (used) by the crewS of UFOS, in close encounters, is damage to their “Aircraft.”

Witnesses recognize the staging (theater) as the UFO landing due to some fault in the aircraft and their crews repairing it in the same way that a car is repaired.

All this is due at the beginning of the distortion, since the phenomenon is presented in the information provided from the unconscious of the witness, mainly on two premises:

1 The effect recognizable and assimilated (a breakdown on the road) as a universal collective “archetype.”

2 The humanoids behave and use human-like tools and procedures in their repair work.

Here's an example:

On the night of November 23, 1964, in New Berlin (New York), 1:00 am, Ms. Marianne observed a light coming down.

With the aid of binoculars she saw a very bright object supported by several feet.

A light emerged below the artefact, illuminating the ground.

She could not specify the shape of the UFO.

Accompanied by her mother-in-law, the witness saw 5 or 6 humanoids working on repairing the object.

They had a height of 2 meters and 2.5 meters. They wore costumes like a divers-suit, dark in color.

The hands were clear and not covered.

The “crew” were carrying toolboxes. Marianne said:

"They worked on that vehicle, just as I have seen my father work on farm machinery. They had screwdrivers and wrenches and all kinds of tools like those used to repaira damaged machinery.”

On the ground was a large object like a motor or generator.

The witness indicated that the humanoids were working with the same movements as would a terrestrial mechanic: kneeling, lying on the ground, leaning on elbows, et cetera.

Then the, women observed another UFO landing nearby.

From that object, 4 o 5 humanoids descended to help the others with repair tasks.

They came and went constantly, between artifacts, carrying all kinds of tools.

The humanoids cut a long wire into several equal sections.

When they tried to enter the "engine" under the UFO they couldn’t for some reason.

After trying on 4 occasions, after much effort, they succeeded getting to the engine.

They gathered all their tools and the crews returned to their respective aircrafts.

At 4.55 am, the first object disappeared in the distance.

Just a minute later, the second UFO flew away.

The next day Marianne, with Richard, her husband (who the night before was hunting with his father) inspected the landing spot.

They found three irregularly shaped footprints of about 45'5 centimeters deep.

Something heavy had caused the indentations.

Marianne found a piece of cable about 2.5 centimeters in diameter, wrapped in a paper-like material.

The cable was similar to aluminum, but did not have the specific qualities of that metal.

Upon returning home, the mother of Richard kept the piece of cable, but when the researchers came to the site, it had inexplicably disappeared.

No doubt in some cases associated with the phenomenon of distortion, the material created from such an encounter will last beyond the presence of the entities in the place of the apparition.

It would be “ephemeral material” whose existence would not last for a long time, vanishing without a trace -- a phenomenon observed for example in the "showers of angel hair" in some UFO encounters, and even the apparition of the Virgin of Fatima, which appeared from the sky and then disappeared.

In the present case we find the two paradoxes exposed by the theory of distortion:

The identification of a universal “archetype” i.e., repair, and the witness's mental contribution by incorporating the tools and human procedures that she, Marianne, observed when young, on the farm of her father, who would sometimes help several people do repair work on machinery or engine generators.

A feature also observed to be very "human" was to fail, repeatedly, when fitting the motor into the object by the humanoids.

The whole scene of mechanical aliens, not just an archetypal representation is "something" else.

It is something like a kind of "oneiric experience" with physical reality, produced (assembled) by the unconscious of the witness, with the help of unknown intelligences.

The interaction of "them" in our psyche, makes the "movie" of Alien repair a product and result of the perfect symbiosis of identifiable archetypes (inherent to all human beings) and the obvious distortion of memory, imagination and knowledge of each person.

The mechanism is very similar (although not equal to) what we experience while dreaming.

If you reader find this strange, you should know that every night, while you sleep, your brain recreates all kinds of situations, distorting everyday life experiences; your ability to reason is partly annulled.

The phenomenon of distortion is based on many of these oneiric precepts and unconscious processes of the human mind.

If the theory of distortion was the result of a purely mental causes or caused by a physical effect (Persinger’s theory) without the participation of an external agent, the patterns of the apparitions would not contain common elements.

The experience would be much more unique, extravagant and completely disorganized and incoherent.

But mostly, those views, mental aberration and/or physical effects, expose a serious error that completely invalidates a global solution of the UFO phenomenon.

They do not explain. Why not?

For example, in some places, UFO landings occurred frequently at certain times and now the "process" is not repeated.

But not only in specific locations. Entire nations have exapereinced a decrease of close encounters, and alleged "hallucinations" have not been replaced by another type of anomalous phenomena of perception.

Both these hypotheses, mental quirks and Personger’s electromagnetic influence can not be put forward as solutions to the problem UFOs in a general context.

MORE INCIDENT STRANGE MALFUNCTIONS

On numerous occasions, the crews of the UFOs seem to be engaged in the repair of their not so perfect flying saucers.

On September 24, 1954, in Becar (France), two women, Mrs. Geoffrey and Miss Gisele Fin, reported seeing, in a field near their home, a dark gray disk.

Along with the object, was a "man" apparently normal, with dark clothes and a sort of "cap" on his head.

According to the witnesses, the humanoids were occupied in arduous tasks of repair. (See for comparison, the William Laxton incident, recounted earlier here). But it is not unique.

On October 9, 1954, a draftsman named Willi Hoge, in Rinkerode (Germany), witnessed the landing along the road of a cigar-shaped object.

From the UFO four beings descendedl rapidly. They were1.20 meters tall, big-headed, with short, thin legs, that, according to Hoge, were stuffed into "rubber" suits.

The beings began, before the astonished gaze of the witness, to repair the object.

In February 1977, in Montana, a Ms. Nielson and another woman observed, at dawn, an elongated object with a dome with a surrounding platform at the bottom.

The UFO was being repaired, on the river, with an instrument that caused sparks such as that seen in welding.

The humanoids doing the “repairs” had a height of 1.70 meters, were dressed like skiers, and they walked and worked as if completely normal.

(The two friends said they felt no fear at any time.)

On April 20, 1950, a similar incident occurred in Italy.

Bruno Facchini, went for a walk after a storm in the town of Abbiate Guazzone, when he observed a strong flare.

Approaching the place, he saw a very large object, like a rugby ball, equipped with a ladder of about 7 or 8 meters high.

From inside came a soft filtered, green light.

Next to the object were several humanoids in diving suits with masks.

One of the humanoids was standing on a pneumatic lift.

He was "welding" the outside of the artefact.

Facchini thought it was a military aircraft in trouble and approached.

But after a short distance, one of the humanoids grunted and the witness, frightened, fled.

One of the humanoids pointed an instrument, like a camera and Facchini felt a strong wind.

Immediately the humanoids entered into the UFO, and flew off, with the sound of a strong buzz.

The strangest thing about these events is that during the bizarre Air-ship wave of 1896/97, there were episodes of the same faults:

April 12, 1897, at Girard, near Green Ridge (Illinois), a group of miners saw an unknown object land three miles north of Green Ridge and four miles south of Girard.

The night machinist's for the Chicago and Alton Railroad, Paul McCrame, stated that he came so close to the artefact he saw a man repairing the machinery.

Traces were found over a wide area. The object was elongated like a ship and had a roof and a double canopy. It left, flying north.

A curious detail is that the witnesses observed, as the aircraft approached, an emblem on its side like the letter M.
April 14, 1897, Gas City (Ind.). An enormous object landed on the farm of John Rush after provoking a violent stampede of horses and cattle.

Six occupants descended from the "object" and began to repair it, before it took off at high speed. (It had almost the identical number of “mechanics” of the Marianne incident ).

On April 15, 1897, two laborers, Adolph Winkle and John Rubber, were luckier: they saw a strange object land in a field and conversed with its crew.

The crew told them that the arteact had flown from Quincy to Springfield in thirty minutes and was on the ground to make electrical repairs.

After the mass sightings of strange "airships" in the late 19th century and beginning of the 20th Century, we have to move to 1934 to find an unknown aerial phenomenon with similar characteristics.

In Sweden, mainly, there were sightings of a mysterious "gray airplane" that never came to be identified.

And again, we find similar situations:

February 7, 1934. Oslo (Norway). From the coastal town of Tromsö came the following telegram:

"An unknown plane has crashed or made an emergency landing Monday afternoon at Mount Fager, located in the region of Målselv.

The inhabitants of the valley continued to look at the device when it fell on the mountain.

The next morning the plane was still there and two men were visible by his side, apparently removing the snow.

Moments later the unit treid to fly off twice but was unsuccessful...

The police chief of Målselv County confirmed the veracity of the message. The accident, or the landing was seen from both sides of the mountain, according to [witness] statements. The witnesses were [credible] people."

The next day, the Norwegian newspaper reported that a Tegna Tidens expedition managed to climb to the top of the mountain to search for remains.

"Farmer Martensson of Fulgleli, said a patrol discovered two parallel grooves in the snow at about 350 meters northwest of the point where the plane had been seen. The tracks measured about 75 cm long and 80 cm wide...The patrol also found footprints around the tracks."

UFOs, Air-Ships, aircraft ghosts, all representing terrestrial and mundane concepts (breakdown, screwdrivers, generators, mechanical, etc.), but transformed and converted into perfect instruments for a "pantomime" close to the world of dreams, by "unknown intelligences" manifested at any time, and, above all, under whatever guise that we ourselves helped build ...[Distortion]

THE HUMANOIDS FACTOR

In the decade of the 1950s, testimonies from people who claimed to have observed UFOs crew were rejected categorically by the UFO community, considered as a product of hallucinations, or at best as mere fake.

In those early years of UFO research, ufologists were concerned principally to give scientific support for studies of sightings. And therefore, considered that the cases which described a bizarre crew of UFOs would detract from their serious studies, losing credibility with the public.

However, the sudden appearance of several events and wide coverage by the media gave a new approach to the hitherto marginal phenomenon of the crews of the UFOs.

To a large extent, the researchers revised their assumptions about close encounters, thanks to the extraordinary case of Socorro (New Mexico), where a police officer claimed to have seen a mysterious object shaped like metal egg with two little people clad in white uniforms. Later, other police officers were able to confirm the presence of footprints in the landing area of the object. The marks were visible for several days. Burns encountered in the adjacent vegetation revealed that they had been produced by exposure to high temperatures.

The case was thoroughly investigated by the USAF and the FBI, concluding that the officer, Lonnie Zamora, told the truth.

The Socorro sighting was admitted by members of Project Blue Book as UNIDENTIFIED, the only case in its files that included: landing, physical evidence (footprints) and occupants of an unknown aircraft.

Hector Quintanilla, head of the project and known for his skepticism about the UFO phenomenon, wrote in the Journal of the secret services "Intelligence Studies" this statement about the Zamora sighting: "This is the best documented case that exists, and we have not been able to find the vehicle that scared [Officer] Zamora despite extensive research.

On the other hand, the renowned Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Northwestern astronomer and director of Dearborn Observatory), as a consultant, at that time, to the USAF, said the case was one of "the most important UFO sightings in the history of the study of the topic,” adding, “of all close encounters of the third type, this is what I think more clearly suggests a material and concrete craft".

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS: ARIADNE'S THREAD?

From that moment, ufologists were not just limited to UFO watching in the sky; UFOs had landed in different parts of the world, with their crews observed by hundreds of witnesses.

With the collection of testimonies from people who claimed to have observed the occupants of UFOs, ufologists believed they was another way to find out the purpose and origin of UFOs.

It was logical to assume, that a knowledge of the morphology and activities of the crew of the "alien craft" could represent the key to unraveling the enigma.

However, initial expectations were soon overwhelmed with the results of the first investigations carried out.

Contrary to what was initially expected, that people almost always observed the same kind of aliens that spoke in favor of a uniform and objective phenomenon, they found a multitude of different descriptions.

The heterogeneity in the descriptions of the alleged "aliens" was so broad, raising hundreds of types of "Aliens" observed in or around UFOs, created a great controversy in the UFO community worldwide.

While at first there was a debate between supporters and opponents of this diversity, with the passing of the years, observations of various UFO crew grew in such a way that researchers accepted the possibility that multiple extraterrestrial civilizations were visiting the Earth.

Thousands of testimonies, collected by ufologists, refer to "aliens" as tall, normal, short, and sometimes diminutive with arms that protrude from the chest, no arms, transparent, with claws instead of hands, with green lights in the skin, the shape of sugar cubes, covered with hair, completely bald, with none, one, two or three eyes, with heads of all imaginable and unimaginable shapes, physiognomy reminiscent of Italian or Japanese tourists, frogs, birds, monkeys, horses, kangaroos, insects, lizards, octopus, et cetera.

Finally, a plurality so eloquent and extravagant, that the UFO files can not be classified or ordered; it’s a disparate phenomenology.

We invite (challenge) readers to seek a physical characteristic that has not been observed in an alleged UFO alien sighting somewhere in the world.

In the 1970s, the researcher Jader U. Pereira authored a classic study of 333 cases of UFO landings, where the only conclusion was that most of the occupants of UFOs were humanoids with anthropomorphic characteristics, varying in height between 0.80 and 3 meters.

More recently, Patrick Huyghe (founder of The Anomalist) in a report on the typology of extraterrestrials, writes that there are four basic sections of UFO occupants: humanoid, animal, exotic, robotic, with at least 14 types and 49 variants.

Before trying to explain what hides behind this challenging phenomenon, I’ll expose the reader to several cases that clearly show the differences between the descriptions of the crews of UFOs:

GELATINOUS BEINGS DOMSTEN (SWEDEN) DECEMBER 20, 1953:

Rydberg and Hans Stig Gustavsson, when they returned to their homes after attending a party, noticed a saucer shaped object with three legs resting on the ground.

From the UFO, they were attacked by four creatures, one meter in height, gray, and devoid of appendages. The creatures seemed to be made of gelatin and were extremely slippery. During blows from the witnesses, the creatures’ bodies became deformed; Rydberg even entered his arm into one of them. Finally, due to the reaction of the witnesses, the creatures fled on board their artefact.

HAIRY DWARF CARACAS (VENEZUELA) NOVEMBER 28, 1954:

A classic South American ufology, where hairy creatures have been seen aboard UFOs...

Gustavo Gonzalez and Jose Ponce, while driving a van on the outskirts of Caracas, saw a strange bright balloon flying over the road. Stopping your vehicle to continue their observation, they were attacked by a "hairy dwarf" with gleaming eyes, only wearing a loincloth like a lucia dress.

The "dwarf", although looking ridiculous, possessed great strength and threw Gonzalez more than four meters away.

The unusual battle was interrupted by the action of another entity, that blinded Gonzalez by lightning. Jose Ponce, who was on the sidelines, declared that the beings, after collecting soil samples, entered the balloon which rose and disappeared.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL BAT SALTOWOOD (GREAT BRITAIN) NOVEMBER 16, 1963:

Four young men sighted a red object that disappeared behind some trees. Moments later, they saw a dark shape, the size of a person, with giant bat wings.

In West Virginia (USA) during the 1960's, the researcher John A. Keel investigated the multiple appearances of strange flying creatures, with huge, bright red eyes that roamed the area of Point Pleasant, accompanied by constant visions of UFOs, which were described as the Moth-man.

CYCLOPS AGGRESSIVE FORRENT, CORRIENTES (ARGENTINA) FEBRUARY 1965:

In early February, 1965, five luminous, transparent objects landed on the outskirts of Forrent (Argentina) and five creatures from a size ranging between 1.5 m and 2 m, with a single eye in the center of the forehead, attacked the witness. Apparently they tried to kidnap a good neighbor, who was saved by the heroic action of some of his friends.

The next day, five humanoids returned to the attack, but this time they were repelled by the whole people.

In Belo Horizonte (Brazil), two years before the incident in Forrent, on August 28, 1963, several boys came across a giant one-eyed brown entity, with a red complexion and no common facial traits such as ears and the nose.

PHOSPHORESCENT GOBLINS KELLY HOPKINS, KENTUCKY (USA) AUGUST 21, 1965:

Several witnesses at a farm in Kelly Hopkins, observed the landing of a multicolored object.

They were besieged by an undetermined number of strange phosphorescent creatures.

From inside the house ,where they were, they could see, through the windows and doors, beings of no more than one meter in height roaming around.

The creatures had huge bald heads, and bright yellow eyes.

Another important characteristic was the existence of disproportionately large ears in relation to lean bodies.

The witnesses shot at these beings.

Finally after three hours, the witnesses fled in terror to the nearest police station but indicating that the creatures were not hostile at any time.

CYCLOPS TINY AREQUIPA (PERU) SEPTEMBER 29, 1965:

Julio Lopez de Romana almost ran over, with his car, a small humanoid about 80 cm. with one eye on his face. Later he was chased by a UFO that accompanied him part of the way.

GNOMES REDHEADS BEBEDOURO, NORTH OF BELO HORIZONTE (BRAZIL) MAY 4, 1969:

While fishing, a soldier, José Antonio da Silva, was attacked by two beings about 122cm in height, that introduced him into the interior of their artefact, a vertical cylinder, with a saucer on top.

The beings, who looked remarkably like the classic Gnomes, had thick eyebrows, green eyes, big noses, funny, toothless mouths and huge ears.

To reinforce the aspect of little creatures of the forest, the beings had long beards and curly red hair which reached below the waist.

GIANT BRAINS DAPPLE GREY LANE, CALIFORNIA (USA) AUGUST 1971:

John Hodges and Peter Rodriguez saw two beings in the shape of brains (sic) of about 91 cm high, who led them into a spaceship, where they were waited upon by various humanoid beings.

GHOSTS ROUGHENED PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI (USA) OCTOBER 12, 1973:

Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker described strange creatures that subjected them to an exhaustive medical examination.

The beings had extremely rough, pale skin with a silver gray and ghostly appearance.

They had no hair and eyes, and their faces had a conical nose and ears in conical shape. The arms ended in crab claws without fingers and their feet were round.

BIG FOOT AND UFOS IN GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (USA) OCTOBER 25, 1973:

The multiple observations of beings similar or identical to Big-foot with UFOs, suggests all sorts of theories about the origin of these creatures.

A farmer named Stephen Polasky, along with several witnesses (15), saw a bright red object land nearby.

Once they were near the object, two humanoids were observed, over 2 meters high, completely covered with hair and with two large yellow-green eyes.

The witness with his shotgun, shot the creatures, but were not found to be affected the creatues "saluted like a human."

(Similar to certain other cryptozoological creatures, the crew of UFOs seem to be immune to bullets)

NIGHTMARE CREATURES TORRIGLIA, GENOVA (ITALY) DECEMBER 6, 1974:

A guard, Zanfretta Fortunato, was the subject of an abduction by giant beings who seemed to have escaped from a terrifying nightmare.

At his solitary job, Zanfretta was surprised by several creatures described as more than three meters tall, with yellow-green, triangular bright eyes.

Their faces was filled with sharp spines instead of hair; they had no ears, Fortunato noted they also had horns. And in the middle of their foreheads, they had a third, very bright eye.

ALIEN ROBOTS ST. JEAN-EN-ROYANS (FRANCE) JANUARY 9, 1976:

Along with descriptions of the most colorful and extravagant "aliens", it was logical to expect to see robots on board UFOs.

And so, there are hundreds of cases where a wide range of alien robots were seen.

Jean Dolecki witnessed one such incident...

"I had the impression that it was a huge balloon, covered with silver paper (...). I found that the artefact was not sitting on the ground."

Then Mr. Dolecki described the occupants of the UFO he saw in the doorway of the sphere:

"They were not men, that I can assure you! It was more like robots, wearing silver clothes, giant robots, as high as the door (2 or 3 m). I saw that they had short legs and arms like telescopic rods which reminded me of fishing poles.”

Because of apprehension and distance, Dolecki could not see details of the robots’ heads, but added, they seemed to be quadrate [squarish].

CLONES TENDILLA, GUADALAJARA (SPAIN) DECEMBER 18, 1977:

A truly baffling case, in terms of UFOs crewscomes from Miguel Herrero Sierra, who, while driving his truck toward the swamp in Buendia (Tendilla), had a peculiar abduction by beings of an "anti-universe."

His experience began after suffering a breakdown with his vehicle, forcing him to stop.

At that moment, a completely normal individual, dressed in a white jumpsuit, invited him to climb aboard a hat-shaped UFO.

Inside the ship, Mr. Herrero Sierra was surprised to note that one of the crew of that object, was identical to him (sic):

"He was sitting with his back to me Sierra told under hypnosis, and turned around to look at me.

My first reaction (I seemed to stand before a mirror) was to approach him, and that's when (...) I was told we could not contact because he was like my negative.

It was exactly like me except that I have the scar on my left cheek; he had it on the right.

He said that we are parallel. The example was in the picture: we are the positive and negative of them or vice versa. Emphasizing that whatever we did, we have an impact on them, and if any of us died for any reason, the negative (to continue calling it that) also died."

THE ENIGMA OF THE UFONAUTS

As we have seen, the UFO phenomenon involving occupants is more complicated than what we might initially imagine.

British researcher Hilary Evans, an expert on the theme of the entities, wrote in his book Visions, Apparitions, Visitors from Space:

"In the past three decades, reports of UFO-related entities are on a scale that is in excess of the most common type of paranormal entitities, other than those in dreams.

And they present an extraordinary paradox, which is an anomalous phenomenon that is associated with a phenomenon that is abnormal, to an extent that its existence, to say nothing of its nature, is still very much in doubt."

Therefore, because the enigma has so many features, many researchers have proposed different hypotheses that may explain the reason for the diversity observed in the morphology of the crew.

The main currents of thought are as follows;

MULTIPLE CIVILIZATIONS

Some researchers argue that this diversity in the descriptions of UFOnauts, is a sharp test for the presence of different extraterrestrial civilizations visiting our planet.

The hypotheses are based on whether the observations of the occupants of the UFOs respond to simple tale: it would be more logical to suppose that there would be a repeat of the same descriptions, already known and disclosed, but each witness invents his own alien. Therefore, these varieties in the descriptions are proof that witnesses are really telling what they see, regardless of whether or not their descriptions coincide with what is already known to researchers.

Antonio Ribera, Spanish researcher and staunch defender of the extraterrestrial hypothesis (nuts and bolts), once wrote: "the observed morphological diversity among the crew (also called occupants) seems to postulate a variety of sources, but as on our own planet, let’s not forget, that white-Scandinavians, 2 meters tall, coexist with black-skin pygmies measuring 1.20 meters, and both are homo sapiens."

REPRESENTATIONS OF OUR COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS

Supporting the theory of the great Analytical Psychologist Carl G. Jung, several UFO thinkers believe that the observations of alien spacecraft and associated crew are due to interactions between the mind of the witness and the collective unconscious.

Dr. Jung argued that our unconscious, besides being particular and private, shares with all our species a set of models, symbols and archetypes that are recognizable to all of us, gathered in enormous planetary mind (collective unconscious).

As our personal unconscious tries to help us mainly through dreams, the collective unconscious (covering the entire human race) could help in a certain time and under specific conditions, the whole of a society relying on symbolic representations that would have the same value as that of the experience of dreaming.

The main aspects that would operate for the planetary mind, would be the personal psychological conflicts of an individual, or global society as well, depending on which is manifested individually or collectively.

The communication would take place as stated above in a coded form, through an archetype, vision or mystical experience, that would try to send us a message that would alleviate this imbalance or mental illness.

"In the individual, explained Dr. Jung, the phenomena of abnormal convictions, visions, dreams, and so on, happen only when one suffers psychic dissociation; i.e., when there is a split between the conscious attitude and content that contrast of conflicts with the unconscious.

Precisely because the conscious mind is not aware of them and, therefore, is faced with a situation from which there seems no way out, this strange content can not be integrated directly, but indirectly expressed, thus generating views, beliefs, hopes, visions, and so forth, of an unexpected and seemingly inexplicable nature.

The projections are what we might call different representations as conditions arise, being merely personal or collective conditions from deeper, personal repressions that are manifested in our immediate environment; the collective content, such as religious conflicts, philosophical, political and social projections choose carriers from a corresponding genus.

One of these projections for a specific genus, would be the UFOs and their crews, as a result of our ancestral belief in God, angels, guardians, which is present in almost all cultures of humanity.

The belief would be "technologized," becoming more amenable for our society, which is accustomed to amazing technological development, where the space race has made us imagine the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations.

In his work Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Sky, Dr. Jung interpreted that UFOs were the epitome of a fundamental archetype of humanity, the Mandala, a symbol that represents an integration of all things psychic.

Therefore in this amalgam of human idealizations, which is the collective unconscious, extraterrestrial myth would be represented, which could be evoked in different ways, adapting to the social and personal mind-sets of witnesses, which would explain the reason for the reported diversity of occupants of UFOs.

These events have been increasing mainly due to two factors:

a. We are at the end of a millennium, which is a fear of the unknown and change.

b. The decline of traditional values and the decline in the social strata: scientific, political and especially religious.

The extraterrestrial myth would have germinated to cover the absence of such elements, and serve as an escape valve for a society immersed in current mental conflicts.

On physical manifestations accompanying the Collective Unconscious, researcher Salvador Freixedo believes that “like an individual's unconscious mind governing the functioning of much of your body, this giant collective mind, that is diffused and infiltrated in all individuals on the planet, governs the functioning of human society. The unconscious mind, both the individual and collective, is not only smart, it has a great energy that can sometimes manifest itself in psychical form, appreciated by our senses.

Thus, if the unconscious mind is capable of producing private psychical effects, such as those seen in poltergeist phenomena, the collective unconscious is capable of producing psychical phenomena that have a specific purpose for society."

MECHANISMS OF CAMOUFLAGE; DISTORTION THEORY

The most accepted theory by different researchers speculates that the crew of UFOs possess a mechanism of some kind, physical or mental, that allows them to take any physical form.

These beings, which inhabit other dimensions, may be able to "interfere" with the mind of people to show them the way they wanted or expected to see the same subject.

Through the manifestation of an extraordinary event, such as the sight of a strange light in the sky, these entities would create a state of mind with which to control or tune our brains.

Being in close connection with our mind, these entities can make or unmake our experience, enriching our culture, folklore, beliefs, and personality; we become co-creators and interpreters of what we observe.

Hilary Evans in this regard said, "The crucial factor of reports (abduction) is that each case is unique, and is reason enough to suspect that the external phenomenon has an inner meaning specific to each witness individually, assuming that the real motivating factor for the experience is far from the experiences recounted by the witnesses."

Therefore many researchers take us to the folklore of different civilizations to say that these entities have been playing with our credulity, adapting to our cultural environment so that the average person of a certain era would find it easier to believe in fairies and goblins than aliens and spaceships.

These entities controlling its manifestations, through our mind, will create a climate of uncertainty among ufologists, which would help them preserve their identity, and above all, cover the most important, clandestine activities they are developing on our planet.

The following case illustrates perfectly the contents of this hypothesis:

On ducks and aliens: Zimbawue (Africa) May 31, 1974

Peter and Frances, while traveling by car, observed a strange UFO over them, then under hypnosis reported the following experience to the researchers:

"Something" was introduced in the back seat during the trip. An unknown entity spoke to Peter, telling him not to worry about physical appearance; if he wanted, it could be transformed into anything imaginable, even a duck or a monster. The thoughts and desires of Peter could be read by them.

THE JOE SIMONTON INCIDENT AND THE DISTORTION THEORY

One will find in any listing of close encounters of UFOs, incidents that seem to defy reason and are absurd products of the mind.

They contain elements with the sole purpose of undermining the credibility of those who are encountered.

The encounter is not believed, and is taken as a joke.

Nor does it seem logical that an alleged witness who "invents" an episode of an encounter with a UFO (to fool the press for example) would create absurd and illogical details that cause their case to not be taken seriously.

Therefore, since the root of these elements is absurdity and incoherency I have called it the Distortion.

When there is a close encounter, the entities make up the scenario (stage, actors, etc.) for its representation, in the eyes of the witness, with psychic material extracted from the witness's mind.

It is something like dreams, where the logical and the absurd come together.

When we sleep, our mind represents scenes from "life", many of them inconsistent, but accepted as "normal during the dream.

But when we wake, we see the absurdity of the dream content.

Something similar happens during close encounters with UFO experiences; the intelligences that cause them, they use a “dream” language based on images and sensations.

When "they" are introduced into our reality, they deliberately cause a distortion to manifest itself.

"They" do not show their true appearance.

Achieved virtually (like dreams) the experiences are non-transferable and personal.

While sharing common features (UFO sightings), the data highlight of close encounters is its individualistic character.

There seems to be a different alien different for each witness.

Here is an example of what we speak:

On April 18, 1961, in Eagle River (Wisconsin), Joe Simonton 60, who lived alone on a farm on the outskirts of the city, had a very strange encounter with rare "aliens cooks."

About 11:00 am in the morning, Mr. Simonton heard something like the sound of "knobby tires on wet pavement."

Mr. Simonton observed a metal object landing in his yard.

It was a chromed artefact, very brilliant, 9 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters in height.

The object had the form of two reversed bowls with "exhaust pipes" on its edge.

It did not quite touch the ground.

The witness approached the object. He opened a “gate” and observed a UFO crew of three with dark complexions.

They had a height of 1.5 meters, wore black or navy blue clothing with turtleneck shirts and helmets.

Simonton told the press that the crew seemed to be of "Italian descent" and about 25 or 30 years old.

One of the occupants gave the witness a “metallic” jar with two handles, indicating with gestures that he needed water for drinking, holding the jar to his mouth.

As a good host, Simonton agreed to the request and went to
his house to fill the water jug, which weighed a bit more than aluminium.

Returning, he noted that inside the artefact, one member of the crew was using a grill, making "cookies" (pancakes?).

Simonton didn’t see a fire in the grill.

The interior of the object was similar to wrought iron and matte black and there were several "dashboards."

The witness says he heard a noise like an electric generator.

Simonton asked for some cookies from the "Italians".

The "chef," who had red stripes on the pants, gave Simonton four hot cookies of about 7.5 centimeters in diameter, with small holes.

Then one of the occupants of the device closed the gate and the machine rose at an angle of 45 degrees.

The UFO moved away at high speed toward the south, causing the tops of nearby pine trees to bend, but without causing any visible damage to them.

The experience lasted five minutes.

Simonton ate one of the cookies and told reporters that it "tasted like cardboard."

The police, who knew Simonton for fifteen years said that they believed in the truth of what he said."

The USAF investigated the matter and examined one of the cookies at the "U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare's Food and Drug Laboratory".

The result: hydrogenated fat, starch, buckwheat hulls, soy bean hulls, wheat bran. (Bacteria and radiation readings were normal.)

Chemical, infra-red and other destructive type tests were run on the material which indicated an ordinary cookie of terrestrial origin.

The whereabouts of the mysterious cookies:

1. Eaten by Simoton.
2. NICAP.
3. The USAF.
4. Remainder to Simonton.

An interesting detail from the analysis of the cookies: they did not contain salt.

Jacques Vallee, in his book Passport to Magonia, compared this "culinary gift" with the food of the fairies which does not contain salt.

Dr. Joseph Allen Hynek, told Major Robert Friend, that the witness told the truth, but it was the product of a "lucid dream" while preparing breakfast.

Simonton was sorry he told his story to the public, as he suffered continuous ridicule and jokes by his neighbors and the press.

ON "LUCID DREAMING", COOKIES AND CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

I agree in part with the approach of Dr. Hynek: that the witness had an "experience like a dream.”

Simonton certainly had an encounter that seemed "physical", "real," and tangible, caused by an "external intelligence" influencing Simonton's mind.

The psyche of the witness added everyday elements to the alleged UFO landing.

It is particularly strange that a spacecraft had a grill for making cookies, in addition to being manned by "Italian tourists" that offered the cookies but needed a jar of water.

No doubt all these aspects are the result of a complex phenomenon of “distortion” which arises from the union of the mind of Simonton with "unknown intelligences."

If normal dreams usually have aspects and components that are inexplicable, absurd and difficult to understand, imagine the result of the union of the unconscious of a witness with "minds of non-humans," that have the ability to recreate matter at will.

My theory is mainly developed from an individual's perception of any anomalous phenomenon (paranormal, UFOs, cryptozoological, et cetera.), where the witness becomes CO-CREATOR, participating in the elaboration of the unconscious experience, contributing psychological material about the conduct of the aliens, external aspects of the machines, et cetera although the "unknown intelligences" after adapting it, represent it according to their whim, acting as INTERPRETER, decoding of the "manifestation."

I think the main effect of all anomalous experiences are based on my principle called “distortion” (which occurs at the time that the external phenomena connects with the witness) and also because of the strange effects caused by communication between dimensions.

If it were a "mathematical formula" it would be something like this:

DISTORTION=PERCEPTION (transformation of experience with a union of the psyche of the witness and unknown entities)

I am convinced that the principles and mechanisms that are used are similar to dreams + TIME (the phenomenon may be accompanied by alteration in time) + PHYSICS (effects on the subject, creation of matter, alterations in the environment of witnesses, et cetera)

The DISTORTION must be understood as:

1. One means of communication, between "them" and the witness, based on sensations and images.

2. One mode of hiding: A perfect disguise.

At the time of the UFO landing at Eagle River, the "unknown entities" grabbed the mind of Simonton, making sure he would wish for a encounter with "ordinary people of stars" (not monsters, nothing unusual), hospitable, cooking in the spacecraft, pancakes just like any Earth neighbour.

This small detail, the cookies, makes it difficult for many people to believe the testimony of Simonton.

Laughter and disbelief are guaranteed.

Therefore, the "distortion" carries an inherent capacity of absurdity and impossible imagery, the signature of many encounters with UFOs, that allows the phenomenon to move between the real and the extraordinary, between waking and sleeping.

Cookies do not contain anything special in our known universe. But still, by analyzing from our perspective, we notice that the cookies are the product of distortion of reality and because they contained mundane ingredients, there is another more important subliminal, transcendent message, a message that we still do not know how to decode.

THEORETICAL CONCLUSIONS

1. I believe in the inter-dimensional nature of the UFO phenomenon.

2. It is an "intelligent" phenomenon (entities) that exists outside of us.

3. The phenomenon has takn many centuries, and many demonstrations to interact with humans.

4. The phenomenon has demonstrated mutability, but does fit into society at the time it manifests itself. (Entities never act in an orderly fashion, or follow an established pattern of behaviour. Its manifestations, via mutability, are related to individual perception and distortion.

5. The diversity of the UFO phenomenon:

a. Many humanoid types (tiny, normal, giant, hairy, bald, cyclopian, et cetera.)

b. Multi-forms of "flying saucers" of every size imaginable, from several centimeters to hundreds of meters and multiple forms: plates, round, square, triangular, cigar-shaped, et cetera.

c. A comprehensive report on visitor behaviour (aggressive, curious, funny, naughty, et cetera) with (various languages: English, Spanish, Russian, French, accompanied by gestures, telepathy, animal grunts, et cetera.)

d. Erasure (almost magical) of any trace or evidence (by more than half a century of the manifestation) which could prove its reality to the whole world.

All these points point to an obvious distortion of our perception of "them," with the sole purpose of carrying out a great "hoax."

6. If it were a distortion caused by the intrusion into our universe or an aspect of quantum theory, the UFO phenomenon would not present an "aberration" of information as we know it.

7. The most striking feature of the UFO phenomena is, without doubt, the individual characteristic that is presented.
(It has all the features, although obviously not, of a mental phenomenon, as each case seems made for a single witness.)

8. The important connection with other anomalous phenomena (cryptozoology, apparitions of the Virgin, et cetera) indicates that the "intelligence" from "hidden" dimensions use various types of events to deceive.

9. The existence of cases where different anomalous phenomena (at least in appearance) are mixed; for example UFOs manned by Bigfoot, or apparitions of the Virgin seen as part of a UFO sighting (Fatima) clearly indicates that the interaction with the observer goes beyond what one would normally expect.

Obviously this distortion, instigated by unknown intelligences, causes total confusion.

Distortion is a means of communication but also a means of concealment.

The purpose? We do not know…

“RUSSIAN PILOT” DURING UFO WAVE OF 1954 DISTORTS OUR “REALITY”?

At the height of UFO wave in France in 1954, an alleged Russian pilot produced one of the strangest and disturbing incidents on French territory. It happened on October 20, 1954, in l'Etape Raon (Vosges).

Lazlo Ujvari, of Czechoslovakian origin and a former Legionnaire, was going to his workplace, at a company, from his farm in Deray in "Le La," riding a bicycle until bad road conditions forced him to walk.

It was about 2:30 in the morning.

Suddenly in the middle of the road, a man with a gun in his hand, emerged from the shadows of the forest, and signalled Lazlo to stop.

This was a normal looking person, corpulent, 1'65 meters tall, wearing a cloth cap with earflaps (helmet?), an open-necked blouse, leather-wrapped, cloth trousers and boots.

The witness is intimidated by the gun but not really scared; he had been in the military.

The gun-man talked but Lazlo Ujvari could not understand the language even though the man continued to talk.

Then Lazlo spoke Russian (he spoke several languages) and the stranger understood.

The gun-man asked Lazlo several questions: "Where am I? Spain or Italy?"

When he discovered he was in France, he asked, "How many kilometres to the German frontier?"

Lazlo replied that "it is 100 km to the Rhine in a straight line."

Then the gun-man asked the time, and Lazlo said 2:30.

The gun-man pulled out a pocket watch and replied: "You lie. It is 4." (Moscow would have had 3 hours more).

The "absurd" interrogation continued.

How far away and in what direction is Marseille? (Apparently mispronouncing the city and perhaps referring to elsewhere).

The dialogue stopped and the mysterious individual, never without his gun, asked Lazlo Ujvari to walk forward.

On one side of the road, Lazlo vaguely observed a dark object that seemed, at first to be a car or van. But the closer he got, he realized that it was a great object of about 6 meters in diameter and 3 feet high, composed of two superimposed plates, dark gray, with a dome on top.

Also on the top was an antenna in the form of a "corkscrew."

Lazlo was not stopped by the "Russian pilot" who still intimidated him with his pistol. They walked about 30 meters more, and then the pilot said, “And now Farewell.”

Ujvari mounted his bike and rode for about 200 meters to near the entrance of the village where he stopped.

He then observed a very strong vertical light emerging from the forest, and heard a noise like a "sewing machine" or a whistle.

Then the device rose up, with no lights and after ascending vertically went away, diagonally.

Ujvari was later questioned by the police who did not find fault with his testimony.

Some researchers, like Michel Corrouges (Martians Appear 1963), believes that we "can not rule out the hypothesis of a lost Russian helicopter" although the witness did not recall seeing propellers and the object did not seem to fit the description of a helicopter.

It is very strange that when landing, the missing Russian pilot, had the luck to find a Frenchman in a small region (approximately 7,000 inhabitants), who spoke Russian.

And we also have the unexplained anomalous language used by the supposed "Russian pilot" that could not be understood by the witness despite knowing several languages.

It should be noted that it was Ujvari who first spoke Russian.

What really happened? Was the object a prototype Russian plane or helicopter?

Did a pilot of the USSR get lost?

Or was it a "joke" by the occupants of flying saucers in the middle of the most spectacular UFO wave that took place in Europe?

Again it appears to have influenced the witness to conclude that he had had a close encounter.

Ujvari’s psyche used the phenomenon to recreate the event of a "lost military pilot."

There are some very suspicious elements in this meeting that reveal a "manipulation" (theater).

The witness was a retired military man and faced a gunman at night.

Lazlo was habituated to tension and danger; another witness surely would not have reacted the same way to an armed, unknown man, at night.

Ujvari knows several languages and can speak fluently with the “Russian pilot.”

The experience occurred in a military context that could have been in the imagination of the witness (projected), and was used (captured and distorted) by the "unknown entities" to shape the experience by supplementing and adorning it with the details provided by the psyche of the witness (sent unconsciously).

Again, the mind of an observer is used as a "library" or "documentation" to "project," in a real scenario, a "movie/dream" of a close encounter with the "alien/Russian" (physical components), all to overwhelm and confuse our minds, in a language of images and sensations, close to "dreams" and the "mystical.",

We still do not manage to decode correctly ... but do not lose hope ...

UFO'S: FOLKLORE IN DECONSTRUCTION

Many myths and folklore from different cultures have evolved during experiences such as these I’m going to tell.

Depending on the social context and the prevailing belief of the time, anomalous phenomena have been interpreted and oriented in one direction or other (gods, ghosts, fairies, elemental beings, et cetera).

Most disconcerting is that the phenomena themselves have accepted these "definitions" and have adapted their manifestation parameters to those "provided" and "designed" by the witnesses themselves.

The experiences of which we speak are displayed in a "multivalent" which could allow a wide range of interpretations, depending on our particular personal approach. Even the "encounter with the unknown" could "mutate" (transform) while we perceive (feel) it.

It is certainly flexible and interactive phenomena.

This is demonstrated in some close encounters with UFOs, which sometimes have integrated features and details (mixed) of different puzzles that are merged (cryptozoology, ghosts, apparitions of the Virgin, et cetera).

Consider a couple of examples:

On November 1, 1954 around 6:30 pm in Cennina (Bucine, Province of Arezzo, Italy) Rossa Dainelli Lotti (40), a woman who lived on a farm on the outskirts of Cennina, was walking to that location to visit the cemetery and church.

She carried a bouquet of carnations and walked barefoot so as not to stain her shoes and socks.

When she reached a clearing among the trees, she noticed the presence of a strange object that was on the grass.

The object was shaped like two cones joined at the base, about 2 m in height and 1 m in diameter and in the center it was brown.

The device had a gate and inside could be seen two small chairs.

From behind the artifact emerged two small beings, looking like children, 1 m in height, wearing form-fitting overalls, with bright buttons and gray coats. Both had black hair and were wearing red helmets.

Their faces like adults, however, and they spoke in a language that the witness compared with Chinese.

The two humanoids looked at Mrs. Lotti with great joy and a smile, and one of them looked older than she.

They took Mrs. Lotti’s flowers and her socks, throwing them, after an examination, into the object.

Then one of the beings took a strange-looking, rounded cylindrical artifact and pointed it at Mrs. Lotti, who ran away thinking that they wanted to photograph her.

When she was about 100 m away, she turned and found that that object and people were still there.

The encounter lasted about 10 minutes.

The event featured testimonials from people who observed a strange object in the air.

Two brothers, Marcello and Ampelio (9 and 6 years), said, at the time, they saw, from afar, the meeting of Mrs. Lotti with the two beings.

The neighbors who came within 30 minutes of the rare meeting place found a deep hole in the ground about 15 cm with a diameter of 10cm. The hole was also seen by the Chief Inspector of Police in Ambra, Botarelli Zulima, who was hunting in the vicinity when the incident happened.

A year before, in Spain there was a close encounter whose intrinsic nature was the same as the same Italian incident.

What happens is, that in this case, the perception of the child witness (with a more elemental culture that Mrs Lotti) causes the development of the story (action) and some aspects of the scene (humanoid, nave, uniform), change the nuance, providing simpler, basic details of each and every one of the elements of the apparition.

It happened on July 1, 1953, in the small village of Villares del Saz (Cuenca).

A young shepherd, Máximo Muñoz Hernaiz 13 years, also encountered a little crew of a UFO.

While he was tending a herd of cows, about 2 pm, he heard behind him, a loud whistle, sounding like a deflating, big balloon.

After turning around, he found, only 4 meters from his position, something amazing; the witness described a shining "barrel with four legs" yellow (maybe metal), with an engine about 1.30 meters high by 30 cm wide, with 3 individuals who came out of the object through a door at the top of the “barrel.”

The humanoids, about 70 cm in height, in the words of the witness, had yellow skin, slanted eyes, and were wearing blue, bright clothing and had, on their heads,"caps" with flat visors.

Maximo observed that the crew had on their right arms a round plate (perhaps an emblem or symbol that was not distinguishable).

The little men were talking in a language unintelligible to the startled witness.

Then, the "nice little humanoids," aided by a “step” that was on the engine, climbed nimbly into the aircraft with a bounce.

Amid an eerie whistle, the “barrel” started flying, significantly increasing in radiance.

Terrified, Maximo took flight.

The post commander of the Guardia Civil (military police) went to the site and found four tracks about 5 cm deep and 2.5 cm in diameter.

The marks made up a perfect square with 36 cm sides.

The researchers talked to more witnesses who said they saw a strange little flying machine, on the date of the Maximo incident.

Who can doubt that these cases are "bridges" between UFO experiences and encounters with elemental beings (fairies, gnomes, leprechaun, et cetera) hat were characteristic of past centuries.

Small characters, laughing, jumping, with colorful clothes, robbing and pulling pranks.

Nothing could be farther from the absurdity of an alleged alien visitation.

To date we have tried, unsuccessfully, to complete the "puzzle" of UFOs, Marian apparitions, ghosts, big foot, et cetera separately, believing that they are different phenomena.

Let's try to gather all pieces of the " puzzle(s)" and maybe, by "deconstruction" of the anomalous experiences (viewed as a whole), we can contemplate the possibility that the human mind has a role in all of these paranormal "plots."

At least we can try.

OBSERVATION STUDY OF THE SOCORRO UFO SYMBOL

On a sheet of aluminum foil we placed the alleged Socorro symbols (those variably described as observed by police officer Lonnie Zamora in 1964 on an egg-shaped craft), grouped 3 by 3.

Group A, B, C groups the symbol associated with an unknown origin, Group D, E, F groups the symbols associated with a terrestrial origin.

We used artificial light to imitate the solar reflection on the described (metal) craft.

The experiment was conducted on a scale 1 /10 with the symbol sized at 75 cm.

Officer Zamora’s report indicated that the size of the symbol was considerable and easy to observe.

(Considering the vision problems of Lonnie Zamora, it was very fortunate that the "owners" of the craft decided to put the "emblem" at such proportions adding a bright red color that would further facilitate the symbol being seen.)

Our experiment shows that a simple solar reflection from the craft’s fuselage might have complicated (distorted) the observation of the symbol.

Conclusion: Drawings (3) have been performed with large, thick lines; the trace line must be adequately separated so that at the distance they do not join.

THE THREE TERRESTRIAL SYMBOLS

D. Perfectly visible. Three arrows are observed.
E. Very visible. The arrow can be interpreted as a closed triangle on the left side.
F. Bad view. Especially highlighted, two "circles" and the central bar.

Symbols D, E, F at approximately 30 meters:

D. Visible. Even if he had seen this symbol of the arrow, the three points become 1, at a distance, as a vertical line inside a circle.
E. Very visible. Clearly an arrow, at the distance described.
F. Hardly visible. At a distance it becomes two circles

Conclusion: The symbol (E), of the three examined, conforms best to the model known as the Socorro Insignia.

GENERAL CONCLUSION: My research finds that the symbols that most likely make the case, ABC and E (from the standpoint of observation and data).

(Now should come a further effort to determine the source of the insignia, if at all possible – an ET source would be problematical.)

DEADLY LIGHTS

On October 21, 1917 while returning from Cambroncino (Caceres, Spain), Nicolas Sanchez Martin, in the company of two women, observed a strange light over the river to be crossed on his way.

Frightened, the women decided to stay over night at Rivera Oveja and wait to continue the next day.

But Nicholas continued his journey and approached the small luminous ball floating in the air.

Calling out to the enigmatic light, it quickly turned against him and his mule.

The ball settled between the legs of the animal. Nicholas dismounted, who, having escaped from the "luminous globe," and with great fear, fled the scene.

After nine days of the incident, the unfortunate witness died at 39 years, in severe pain and with rare bleeding that a physician tried to sear with a small red-hot iron.

Dr. Victor Sanchez Hoyos said in its report that the death was due to pneumonia. Although neighbors and relatives commented that the death was related to his encounter with the light, because until that day Nicholas was inextraordinary good health.

Some experts, like the researcher J.J. Benitez claimed that the witness was exposed to some kind of "ionizing radiation" of "low frequency" that caused his death. Unfortunately we'll never know for sure.

Interestingly, reviewing various historical documents, newspaper, I discovered that the "EL CONTRIBUYENTE" offered the following sensational news to its readers the March 17, 1897, bearing similarities to the incident at Cambroncino.

"Newspapers report that residents of Vitoria: Yurre, Antesana, Lipidana and other people are overwhelmed with fear because of a mysterious light that appears at night near those places. It's sort of a luminous globe with pale lights that wanders through the air or stops at the tips of the twigs. The balloon in question is easily distinguished at a great distance and has been seen by several people. It is said that a curious person who went to the window to contemplate it, had to close the window abruptly, as she saw the phenomenon [and readers will have understood that it is a phenomenon] came toward her, no doubt without good intentions . The fact has given rise to fantastic assumptions, reviving the ancient legends of witches, and as night falls, the simple villagers experience hair-raising, except those who are bald. In De Vitoria some people have come to witness the phenomenon also."

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS: COLLATERAL DAMAGE

UFO cases where witnesses have close encounters with a UFO and reportedly have suffered serious physical injuries after an approach or interaction with the UFO.

In the seventies there were two incidents of this kind in Spain.

SHOOTING AT A TRACTOR

On the afternoon of July 17, 1975, Emiliano Velasco, 49, was working with his John Deere tractor in a small field of Pedrosa del Rey (Valladolid). Everything was as usual until a strange high-pitched sound warned him of the presence of a strange aircraft in the air, hovering a few inches above the soil.

It was a "thing" that he had never seen before. The object had a rare shape and circled the tractor.

It was shaped like a tin can (cylinder) and the top had a "hat" (beret) tilted to one side. It had two windows, sunk into the structure and a metallic belt surrounding the object.

It had a multitude of antennae arranged in a fan shape. According to the witness the device was about 2.5 to 3 meters high by 2.5 wide, was larger than the tractor and had an aluminum-like appearance, but shinier than aluminum. It hovered only about 50 cm or 70 cm above the soil.

Although Emiliano Velasco continued his work, although the object's presence greatly worried him.

The most curious thing is that at every turn the tractor made, the object approached the tractor, so after completing the second turn, the object was at a distance of 10 meters, and after about 30 minutes the device just over 3 meters away from the witness.

As the "buzz" grew louder, the tractor seemed to lose power. Then the device dazzled the witness with a flash of light shot from the center of the object.

A few minutes later the witness saw another "flash" and heard a noise like a whistle and a left front glass on the tractor suffered a small tear. It seemed like a shot of a small bullet.

The witness left the place scared and went to the barracks of the Guardia Civil (military police). The patrol found that the glass of the tractor had a hole about five millimeters in diameter without showing the usual radial cracks that appear whenever a crystal is broken. What could have caused that tiny hole?

Remnants of the hypothetical projectile was searched for searched by the Guardia Civil on the scene, but the results were negative. The GC proceeded to remove the glass, in order to carry out a thorough analysis.

The first analysis determined that the element that caused the perforation had penetrated the rear of the tractor cab, just below the left arm of Emiliano Velasco. The officials responsible for the investigation found that there were no fingerprints or any traces of that artifact.

But there were other notable anomalies. In the GC camp was a researcher, J. J. Benitez.

Examining the tractor showed that its engine revs soared, inexplicably, from 2,000 to 2,500 rpm, and in that area was a rectangle of about 12 meters long and 6 meters wide.

The research group "Charles Fort" interviewed the witness and noted that: "After the observation, Velasco’s relatives noticed a change in his character that caught their attention; he was anxious, worried, had less interested in work and even fearful of returning to the farm field.

Afflicted by various symptoms, a report, provided by a physician, indicated a centric vision loss and hearing loss. The physician authorized a grant application and recommended that Velasco get some rest.

In addition, the Charles Fort group found, through its president, Antonio Felices, that a 22 mm caliber projectile, the smallest he could find, caused, from 10 metros away, a hole of 3 cm in diameter in glass, almost three times the size of the 5 mm hole caused during by the alleged UFO.

With these first tests, the group ruled out the possibility, suggested by a few people, that the hole was due to one of the GC shells conventional firearms.

In this regard, chemist Dr. Francisco Javier and Jesus Gil Marin also did not found metallic debris in drilling glass, which could help identify the type of projectile that caused the incident. And no anomalous readings were obtained with a Geiger counter.

The researcher, Ángel del Pozo, author of "The Crypt Sealed" added: "In the medical examinations that was later performed, Velasco had significant deafness, double vision, decreased visual [acuity] and left side hemiplegia (paralysis on one side of the body).

Some lesions became worse with the passage of time until they finally reached its tragic denouement: Emiliano died on June 8, 1978. The diagnosis was clear: "A progressive brain tumor complicated by cervical osteoarthritis." The witness died 34 months after his disturbing encounter.

BALLISTIC STUDY

If the hole produced in the glass of the window of the tractor was made by some type of projectile (a conventional bullet), such a shot would have thrown the witness backward toward the UFO.

For this report, we have reconstructed a likely route (red line) that the tiny projectile followed after it was allegedly launched from the UFO until it hit the glass (tractor).

The images show that the "shot" was executed with great skill, because the small gap left by the left arm, supported on the tractor (yellow circle, pictured below right), left little room for error.

Also the top left image shows how close the alleged "bullet" came to hitting the leg of the witness.

It is clear that, if it really was a missile, it could have hurt the witness because it was a very risky shot considering that the tractor and the UFO were in motion.

THE METAL “TEAR”

Two years after the close encounter, only 18 kilometros away, there was another incident of similar characteristics.

On the evening of October 1, 1977, Martin Rodriguez Rodriguez, 7 years old, was playing with friends around the town.

Together with Fernando Carabelos, Martin decided to hide in an old corral existing along National Highway-122.

Before entering the abandoned site, Martin decided to throw a stone inside to see if anyone was there.

After throwing a stone, a metallic sound echoed in the silence.

Upon entering, Martin and Fernando saw a metallic object that looked like teardrop, with several circular windows on top, from which rose a bluish-pink light.

The strange object was based on three thick legs, and at its center was a door divided into two, similar to the lifts [sic].

It was about 2'80 meters tall and 2 meters wide. The two boys were stunned by the object which emitted lights of different colors, as seen on the right side, and it had a set of metal tubes emanating from "gases.”

After a few minutes, the object began to vibrate and rise slowly. At the center of the metal artifact, was a thin beam of light (laser), which projected into the stomach of Martin.

The witness felt paralyzed, dizzy, and lost consciousness.

Following the departure of the UFO, a strong smell of sulfur was evident all over the place.

Martin Rodriguez Rodriguez of 7 years was admitted to the hospital in a coma. He managed to overcome, but had vision loss and constant vomiting.

He was diagnosed with cerebral aqueduct stenosis (hydrocephalus) and was operated on several times which saved his life.

At present, some deep scars remain that are silent witnesses to the experience.

THE COINCIDENCE OF TWO INCIDENTS:

1 Distance between the two encounters: 18 km
2 Time between encounters: 2 years (1975-1977)
3 The two UFOs had the appearance of brilliant aluminum.
4 The two UFOs had bumps on the sides (exhaust-pipe, antennas)
5 They both projected beams of light.
6 The two witnesses suffered medical problems and brain damage after their observation
7 The diseases were detected after their observation, although it may be that the witnesses’ diseases were latent and these were activated by the UFO or simply unconnected.

EXPERTS' OPINIONS

The author of this report spoke with medical specialists who informed him that the two "diseases" could not have caused hallucinations, because of the "visual", “olfactory" and "auditory” symptoms described (their complexity).

The doctors knew of no other hallucinatory symptoms of this nature and complexity.

However, the doctors said that these diseases might or might not be related to the experiences reported by witnesses.

While stressing the "coincidence" of the proximity of both incidents, their similarity and especially in such small populations (where UFO activity is practically zero), two people suffering the same physical consequences following a close encounter is at least strange.

Jules Verne´s UFOs

The mysterious sightings of airships that newspapers in America and Europe reported upon began in November 1896, with the massive sighting of a huge cigar-shaped aircraft over the city of Sacramento (California), which was seen by many.

Days later, newspapers reported, from different states, other bizarre and impressive aircraft flying across the sky with impunity.

The chroniclers of the time described these flying machines as resembling enormous airships, with a cabin at the bottom and armed with powerful "reflectors" which alarmed witnesses.

Contemporary researchers such as Robert G. Neely Jr., Donald Hanlon and Jacques Vallee, have been able to find more than two thousand newspaper accounts, between the years 1896-1897, that referred to the appearance of such strange aircraft in the United States, baptizing those sightings, as the Air-Ship Wave.

We must take into account, before proceeding, where we are situated at the end of the nineteenth century.

The first flight airplane flight by man was by the Wright brothers on December 17, 1903, and the first American dirigible, the California Arrow of Thomas Baldwin, did not fly until 1904.

It is therefore assumed that in 1896-97 no human apparatus, except balloons, interrupted the smooth flight of birds. Aeronautics experts as Charles Harvard Gibbs-Smith, belonging to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, ruled out the possibility that the Air-Ships were from the human hand.

During the two years mentioned, there were numerous sightings of "airships" that plied the skies at speeds estimated between 5 and 340 km / hour.

Researcher Jacques Vallee stated, "the aircraft had typical activities similar to that of UFOs, were immobilized in the air, throwing probes, abruptly changing course, or altitude, going at high speeds, circling, landing and taking off, and sweeping the countryside with powerful searchlights."

But those devices, unlike our modern UFOs, seemed to be at the forefront of technology by the end of the century.

Ignacio Darnaude Seville, in his brilliant article "The Mysterious Wave of 1896-1897," said on this subject: "Many flying machines of varied size, appearance and features [performed] a vast array [of] histrionics in the skies of the emerging world powers, showing dilapidated mobile wings beating the air like birds, canvas sails to catch the wind, propellers, circular wells such as river vessels, gas balloons, stabilizers, rudders, steam engines, motors electric and gasoline, multicolored lights, and other simulated mechanical devices which may be attributed to the primitive technology in vogue in the late nineteen [hundreds]"

But what few knew at the time, is that years ago, an exceptional writer reflected, in a book, these amazing events: Jules Verne

Robur the Conqueror

"What is truly disconcerting about the air-ships of 1897," wrote the dean of ufology, Antonio Ribera, "is the ”Victorian era” patina and Jules Verne resemblances."

Whoever wants to get an idea of their appearance, according to eyewitness accounts, you can turn to two works by Jules Verne: Robur the Conqueror and Master of the World.

"In these cited works of the famous French writer, is described, in detail, an aircraft called the Albatross which remarkably resembles the "airships" seen in the American Southwest.

Note that Verne’s books were published ten years before the events of the Air-Ship wave (1886). How could the French novelist anticipate future events? Who or what made up the crew of these "impossible" flying machines? What intentions did they have?

In Omaha, Nebraska, there were dozens of sightings of the wonderful flying machines that seemed to be moving from a starting point in California, moving to the east, causing surprise among the thousands who saw it.

As reflected in the dozens of press stories, the city of Omaha, was a central to the continual comings and goings of the aircraft ghosts, as many reporters reported it.

One event that had broad impact was reported on March 28, 1897, when a large crowd gathered in the street to see a great light flying at low altitude. Almost the entire population of Omaha was witness to this inexplicable incident, which was referred to in almost all gatherings of the region.

Let’s try to shed light on the matter by reviewing some of the "prophecies" that are hidden in the text of Verne's novels ...

In the book Robur the Conqueror, Jules Verne inserted the following "precognition”:

"Omaha residents should distinguish the strange device (the Albatross) (...) a fact that newspapers were going to discuss in the union."

In this paragraph the Jules Verne cites the city of Omaha and the journalistic follow-ups that were aimed at their aircraft, the Albatross, which like the Air-Ship, were continuous and daily on newspapers’ front pages .

Jules Verne writes:

"As expected, all the newspapers spoke of the issue (Albatross sightings), and treated them in all their forms, clarified and obscured, told true or false facts, filled [readers] with alarm or reassured [them] ... "

April 13, 1897 The Saint Louis Globe Democrat, reported that the engineer of the locomotive 950 of the mail service, Mr. F. L. Bullard, had watched dumbfounded as one of these ships approached his convoy, passing with ease, even though the train was going at full steam, and then the Air-Ship disappeared into the distance.

It was not the only time a passenger train saw the fleeting passage of an Air-Ship, which seemed to enjoy overtaking the fastest land vehicles at the time.

And in the pages of Robur:

“And then, in obedience to an order secretly given, the Albatross dropped still lower so as to chase the train, which was going at full speed. She was immediately sighted. A few heads showed themselves at the doors of the cars. Then numerous passengers crowded the gangways. Some did not hesitate to climb on the roof to get a better view of the flying machine. Cheers came floating up through the air…” [Page 59of the Ace paperback]

April 20, 1897, about 2 a.m. in the town of El Paso (Texas) a terrified witness said he saw a huge flying machine in the form of pure circular windows lit with the help of two powerful headlights that illuminated entirely his steps as if it were daylight.

A similar case occurred in Oakland a year earlier, which reported the presence of an object, provided with wings, projecting a powerful beam of light on the ground.

As we see, it was very common for the Air-Ships to deploy powerful spotlights to illuminate the pitch-dark night and surprise witnesses, who would never think that this great light could come from the stars.

And here is this detail from Verne in his prophetic novel:

"Two bright headlights [lit up] plazas, piers, gardens, palaces and sixty thousand houses in the city, and threw light rays from one horizon to another…" ... detailing the Frenchman’s airship’s visit to Paris, as the crew of the Albatross also liked to scare observers with the Albatross’s powerful spotlights.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH THE AIR-SHIP CREW

There were dozens of opportunities during which the surprised witnesses could approach the Air-Ships, and observe their crew.

Most of the time the pilots were just like us, both women and men, including several incidents in which there were children and the elderly in these aircraft.

And the crew of these aircraft often engaged in conversation with witnesses.

Generally the witnesses approached the aircraft on the ground and checked it.

As they approached the crew, they spoke good English (except for several cases in which an unknown language was spoken).

They claimed to be "inventors" air testing a new prototype, so it did not raise too much suspicion.

They said it takes many years of experimenting with aerial devices and soon they would patent the machines.

To justify stopping on the ground, these strange characters often asked for water, explaining that it was a rest stop or that they were "repairing" the aircraft.

April 12, 1897, near Green Rideg Girard (Illinois), a large group of miners saw an unknown object which landed three miles north of Green Rideg and four miles south of Girard.

The engineer in Chicago for Alton Railroad, Paul McCrame, stated that he came close to the unit, and saw a man “repairing” the machinery. Traces were found over a wide area. The object was elongated like a ship and had a roof and a double canopy. The ship left for the north.

Robur, Verne's character also suffers the ravages of the damage to his aircraft “to repair at least [the] bow thruster; the Albatross staff, knowing that there was no time to lose, immediately set to the work. "

On one occasion, April 22, 1897, after the landing of one of these devices in Rockland, an occupant who gave his name as "Smith" told the startled witness, "I need some lubricating oil and a couple of chisels. And I need some copper sulfate. I guess the nearby mill will have the first two items and the telegraph operator has the copper sulfate. John M. Barkclay, which was the name of the witness, asked "Mr. Smith" from where they came and got this elusive response: "Everywhere, but we will be in Greece after tomorrow."

The witness’s dog was barking furiously outside the house in the presence of Air-Ship.

It is well known that many times animals, especially dogs seem to predict the arrival of UFOs, as well as the Air-Ships.

Jules Verne added this enlightening information, "Singular instinct! These beings (dogs) felt the flying machine (the Albatross) pass over them and uttered cries of horror at his proximity."

April 14, 1897, in Cleveland (Ohio), Joseph Singler, captain of the Sea Wing, was fishing with S. H. Davis, of Detroit, when they saw on the lake what they thought was a boat about 13 meters long, with a canopy.

A man of about 25 years, with hunting jacket and cap, was fishing from the bridge of the object. Beside him were a woman and a boy about 10 years.

When the Sea Wing moved closer to the machine, the huge rose-colored globe rose to a height of 150 meters and made several circles before leaving.

The novel describes the following episode:

"The Albatross staff, imagining the fun you could provide fishing from the apparatus could not hide their satisfaction (...) One hour of fishing [was] enough to fill the aircraft, which turned to the north."

May 6, 1897, two law enforcement officers, called Sumpter and McLenore, were riding northwest of Hot Springs (Arkansas) when they saw a bright light in the sky. Then later, they saw the light again, this time down to earth. Their horses refused to advance.

They saw two men armed with lamps. Sumpter and McLenore seized their rifles, and called out to the unknown and were told that it was traveling the country.

In the clearing stood the silhouette of the machine, about 20 feet long. Beside her was a woman with an umbrella. It was raining and the youngest of two men took care to fill a bottle with water.

An older man, with a beard invited the agents to check around on the ship, [before going] to "a place where it rains."

The witnesses returned to the same spot 40 minutes later and saw nothing.

From Verne: The crew of the Albatross, "had down 10 meters from the river, where it was parked. Then thanks to a rubber tube pulled out of the aircraft (...) They worked to procure water."

ALBATROSS ROUTE

Jules Verne describes, throughout novel, the course of the Albatross through different states.

The characters kidnapped by Robur, Phil Evans and Uncle Prudents, when they looked from the deck of the aircraft, saw different cities and geographical features.

The hostages begin to describe the places they saw from the air, after their entry into U.S. territory from Canada, to leave for California. With the aid of maps of varying vintage and historical documentation we can follow the " air route " described by Verne in his novel.

Of the 12 states visited by Robur’s Albatross in the novel: : NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, OHIO, INDIANA, ILLINOIS, IOWA, NEBRASKA, THE DAKOTAS, WYOMING, UTAH, NEVADA and CALIFORNIA,, 8 were later overflown by the Air-Ships (states underlined).

CONCLUSION:

After the months of November and December 1896 and March, April and May 1897, we never heard of the strange and unusual aircraft with their inventors again.

But most disturbing of all is this question, Is the amazing of Jules Verne sketching between the lines, almost perfectly, what years later would happen in the United States?

Again it is clear that the French novelist was a man ahead of his time or a perfect clairvoyant.

Many of the places described in Verne's work as a stage for his Albatross flights are the same decades later that were flown by the Air-Ships.

In fact, coincidentally, the last point of American geography visited by Robur, is precisely Sacramento (California), the starting point of the Air-Ship wave.

Remember that the novel came to public light in the month of November 1886, and the beginning of the mass sightings of air-ships in November 1896. More accuracy cannot be ordered.

What never ceases to amaze, obviously, is the complexity of the UFO phenomenon that seems to hide behind a disguise to avoid any kind of study.

As researcher Jean Robin said, "Each of the UFO-phenomena manifestations of U.S. aircraft in the 90's of the 19th century, the mystery aircraft in Scandinavia in the 30's, [the ghost] rockets of Sweden in 1946, today's era of UFOs are a step ahead of the technical advances of the time. The core problem is the projection of a false belief system, a little beyond existing beliefs."

Vallee adds: "Arguably, if [we’re] dealing with a higher type of consciousness, it is entangling us in certain games (...) we are witnessing a truly remarkable form of consciousness, which has a great sense of absurdity and of humor."

But we could finish this conjecture with the enigmatic words Verne has Robur utter at the end of the work, before leaving for the unknown at the helm of his legendary Albatross…

"My experiment is finished. Now is not the time to rush to progress further. Science should not get ahead of the customs. It is evolution, not revolution that we should seek.

In a word, we should not be before our time. I have come too soon today to understand your conflicting and divided interests.

The nations are not yet civilized enough for union. I go, then; and I take my secret with me. But it will not be lost to mankind. It will belong to you the day you are educated enough to profit by it and wise enough not abuse it.

As for the future of aerial locomotion, it belongs to the aeronef [sic], not the aerostat.”[Page 141 ff. Ace Books, 1951]

ADDENDA:

COMPARISON of AIR-SHIPS with THE ALBATROSS:

1 . Shape of objects observed:

The basic structure of the Albatross is of a boat. The Air-Ship is described often as a ship.

2. The Rudder:

Likewise, in both cases is described the existence of a rudder as a tool of governance of the object.

3. Light Rays:

The Albatross had two powerful spotlights in the bow, to light around it. The Air-Ship has been described on numerous occasions with two bright lights.

4. The motor:

The energy that propelled the Albatross is electricity. Sometimes the alleged inventor of the Air-Ship named electricity as their source of motor.

5. The sound:

The noise that produced both aircraft was also very similar.

6. Arms:

The Albatross had weapons and ammunition as well as the Air-Ship, as their crews said

7. Anchor:

The Albatross and Air-Ship both used an anchor for their approaches and landings.

8. Velocity:

Albatross speed in the work of Jules Verne was 200 Km / hour, with the speed of the Air-Ship, according to findings of contemporary researchers, between 5 and 340 km / hour (200 miles per hour).

OCCUPANTS:

1. Albatross crew is bearded. Robur has a beard, like much of the "scientists" in command of the Air-Ships.

2. Uniform. The crew of the Albatross, as the illustrations accompanying the original edition shows, were dressed as sailors. Clothing observed in some individuals onboard the Air-Ships.

3. Crew. 8 men in the case of Albatross; also seen in numerous sightings of the Air-Ship.

ACTIONS OF THE CREW:

1. The trumpet of Tom Turner.

Robur's boatswain liked to play the trumpet, which astonishes the witnesses before the passage of Albatross. Different musical instruments, including a trumpet were heard on board of the Air-Ship.

2. Fisheries.

The crew of the Albatross stock up on food fish in rivers and seas. Several witnesses observed the Air-Ships near a river, and its occupants were fishing peacefully.

3. Power

Robur's engineer tests the power of the machine against a speeding train. On several occasions the Air-Ship is observed overtaking a train

4. Repair

The Albatross is repaired by the crew after a slight fault. The Air-Ship is discovered, in repair, in

many of events collected by the newspapers.

5. Water supply.

Like the fishing action, obtaining water is part of the crew activity of the Albatross and is repeated by the mysterious occupants of the Air-Ships.

6. Release of messages.

Messages are thrown from the Albatross and sometimes the Air-Ships do the same.

PLACES DESCRIBED:

1. Over-flown states.

Of the 12 U.S. states over-flown by the Albatross, 8 were visited by Air-Ships

2. Chicago.

The passage over the city is clear in the novel and in the cases recorded for 1896 and 1897, The Air-Ship seen above the same town are abundant.

3. Omaha.

The passage of the city is named in the work and sightings reported on the same town are plentiful as in the case of Chicago.

4. Spotlights on Paris.

The use is detailed in the novel, when the Albatross flies over Paris (France). The Air-Ship is seen in the city of Paris, Montana.

5. Lake Erie.

The Albatross over Lake Erie has a perfect replication during the Air-Ship wave.

6. Sacramento.

The last town visited by the Albatross is Sacramento which gives the starting signal for the Air-Ship wave, in addition to matching the time and the moments flown by the Air-Ships
